Has anyone seem 28 Days Later? I caught the late show of it tonight, to a surprisingly full theatre, and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. A great movie with a nice and original take on the zombie genre. I thought it was incredibly well acted and near flawless. Even the dingy, grainy, digital feel to it helped the movie. It made it seem more real, and not some glosseed over blockbuster movie.

It was incredibly violent, too, with alot of gore. Hell, people even walked out of the movie becuase of some of the violence. But man, some of the scenes were so compelling and so intense. It was impossible to turn away from this film. This is a film that I hope does incredibly well. It won't do as good as Charlie's Angels 2, but it'd be nice if it did over $10 million.

Ooh, I really want to see this movie! It's from the same guy who directed "Trainspotting," right?

Just plain bad. Slower than molasses. I think that they should have added another hour and a half of walking/looking around scenes. And don't forget the obligatory "shopping spree after armageddon" scene. Very weak "monsters" that relied too much on gross out and screaming (WAY too much screaming). 1/2 star is not low enough, but that's what I gave it.

Caught it Friday night to a full theater and I'm pretty mixed. I mean, I liked it, but I do agree, it was pretty slow in a lot of places. Scenes though that I do understand why they were slow, but I could feel myself slowing way down as well watching it. Something I didn't really want to feel watching a horror movie.

Man, you should have heard the gasps and "oh man's" from all the male audience members when we see Frank was it(?) fully naked at the begining of the movie. The only reason that was shown was because it wasn't an American made movie. Nobody else in Europe doesn't mind it, but it's here in America where filming male nudity is rarely seen. I know it's done here, but it's rarely seen. I've always been comfortable and fine with seeing it and always will, but it always amazes me how uncomfortable it makes other guys. Sure, female nudity is exceptable but oh no, not male.

Anyways, it was a creepy movie in a lot of places. I felt really bad for the girl when her dad got infected and had to watch him die right in front of her. The military guys turning on them towards the end and wanting the girls for sex and procreation was a shocking twist of events there. But everyone got theirs in the end.

All in all, a pretty slightly above average movie, but one that I did enjoy. It's always nice to a see a movie that doesn't come from Hollywood. It's always a nice change.

I found this at RottenTomatoes.com, and it pretty much sums up my thoughts about the movie:

28 Days Later is one of those textbook movies proving you can shock and scare an audience without resorting to lopping off heads or limbs, and that the camera can be as lethal a weapon as any automatic firearm, sword or machete.
It's nice to see a horror movie for once that actually breaks stereotypes. No obligatory sex scene between the male & female protagonists, no "I can hide the fact that I'm a zombie from my friends until I go nuts and attack them," no ungodly slow lurch-zombies, no cheesey ending lines, etc. It was a really really good horror movie, something that I haven't seen in a good while. The pacing was slow in a couple of areas, but I didn't really mind it that much, I suppose. Overall, 28 Days Later gets 4 stars from me.

As a fan of the zombie genre, I'll pop in to say I am happier than hell that this was the best horror flick that has been made in the past 20 years. Giving time to reflect all of the good emotions you'd think they'd feel during other zombie films, while keeping in the madness and gore. Brilliant. Loved every minute. Though the zombies were more like...pre-zombies...being as they wern't exactly "dead" yet. The blood spewing was cool, too. Even the military baddies at the end worked just right. It's official that only the British can make a good horror movie, now adays. Yep. Hollywood sucks. Anyway, I can't say anything more than....brilliant. Best horror movie ever.
