In the sad state of Saturday morning cartoons the genre that I feel has suffered the greatest is celebrity Saturday morning cartoon shows. Camp Candy, Bruce the Kid, Little Rosie, Hammerman, New Kids on the Block, Wish Kid, etc. There just aren’t any around anymore. There is Jackie Chan Adventures, but it’s not really a “celebrity Saturday morning cartoon show”. You see CSMCS’s have two very important criteria 1)The celebrity must play the voice of their self or a character loosely based on themselves, and 2)Their character must either be a child or be in charge of a group of children. Unfortunately, Jackie Chan doesn’t play his voice and there is only a lone child character is the series. The last true CSMCS was Waynehead. There is only the Olsen Twins secret agent cartoon, but that’s on cable.

So I’d like to know what current celebrities you would like to see get a CSMSC style cartoon. Don’t forget to stick to the classic guidelines. The exception is that if the celebrity IS a child(ie Macaulay Culkin, the Olsen Twins) there are no rules and the premise is wide open.

Personally I would like to a show with a junior Drew Carey. And while I don’t like them perse, I think the episode of the Simpsons they were on show that N’Sync could hold an animated series.

Well actually, the Jackie Chan in JCA is based off a lot of the personality of the real Jackie Chan, and JC also does the voice of his character's screams and various grunts. Perhaps a reason why there aren't that many "celebrity Saturday morning cartoon shows" is because a lot of them were pretty bad (like the SuperGlobbtrotters and the Gary Coleman Show) and unlikeable. And I don't see how N*SYNC can hold down an animated show, or any type of show at all. Even though a Drew Carey one wouldn't be so bad (If done right).

Celebs that I could see with a Cartoon:

- Sean William Scott (based mainly on the characters he plays and the Superhero bit from the MTV movie awards)

- Weird Al Yankovic (Animation would be the perfect fit for him)

DUDE! Weird Al all the way. he's an excellent choice. He would be perfect to play a "kid" too because on his newest CD, they had home movies of his childhood and his "narrations" were PERFECT!

Ive always wanted to see Al do character voices because it's so... weird!

Maybe his band could be his friends (or kid friends).

I wouldnt mind a Jr. Drew Carey. I liked the way Life with Louie sounded with an adult voice for the kid. I can see this working.

Also... after seeing Ellen voice Dory... I think she'd be able to do something. She was really childlike in Finding nemo and it actually worked.

*sigh* aww man, Weird Al would rule. The Weird Al show barely fared against competition, but a cartoon might do better.

Remember the opening to The Weird Al Show? It began with cel animation, then CGI and then claymation. Harvey the Wonder Hamster could have his own sidestory cartoons with Al. That would be great. Al did do himself on the Simpsons, "Three Gays in the Condo" I only wish he had had a larger part in that episode.

If there was a N'Sync cartoon with a sense of humor of itself(like their Simpsons appearance), and thick lined, Clerks:TAS-like character designs I think I would really enjoy it.

Come to think of it Damon didn't actually do the voice of Wanyehead. But at least it fits one of the two criteria. JCA still fits neither.

My sister just reminded me of Bobby's World. That was a good show at times, except that Bobby's child-like naivety stood on the border of cuteness and pissing me off. But I really like the spoof of old Popeye cartoons they did once.

A lot of times the celebrities on these shows get the billing of doing their own voices but aren't actually doing their own voices. Case in point, the Jackson Five received billing for doing their own voices followed by the billing of the actual voice actors.

Vin Diesel! Vin Diesel should have a cartoon show. One where he's this really cool alien bountyhunter guy that takes this group of kids in his spaceship and takes them on cool space missions, but gets them back to Earth in time for dinner every day.
