I've heard somewhere that it is supposed to be in continuity with Batman Beyond, but further down the time line. What exactly is it??

"The Zeta Project" is a show about a rogue "synthoid," an android programmed by the government to infiltrate enemy organizations and carry out secret missions, mostly assassinations. Zeta, the title character, is a synthoid that has rebelled against his programming; in the company of a teen runaway named Ro, he is trying to elude the government agents trying to capture him.
In other words, "Short Circuit" cross-bred with "The Fugitive."
The origins of the show are a little obscure: The accepted story is that this was always intended as a stand-alone show, and not a Batman Beyond spin-off. But Zeta was introduced on the BB ep "Zeta" before the premiere of TZP, so it has the feel of a spin-off anyay. The show definitely takes place in the same general universe, and there have been cross-over appearances. Zeta reappeared in BB's "Countdown" and Batman and Wayne appeared in TZP's "Shadows."
Hope that helps.

What is the Zeta Project? Crap. :)
But yes, it does occur in the same world AND year as Batman Beyond, though the two worlds seem completely different. Zeta's much brighter, and technology seems more advanced in Zeta... in Zeta, everyone has flying cars, while in Batman Beyond, only the relatively rich have flying cars.

Yeah, but I like how Batman Beyond seemd less painted with happy bright technology. It keeps things a tad more gritty and old fashioned.
BAD JOKE ALERT: Speaking of cars I guess we can consider Bruce not rich or poor, just kind of stuck in the middle, because his limo hovers. ;) Not quite flying, not quite grounded.
And ya know, physician, if you ask around you might find a lot of BB fans angry at Zeta for many BB related reasons, like how BB was seemingly used just to launch the show that would replace it.

I agree with Hatter and Nightwing across the board here.
Though I think a lot of us have moved on to simply hating KWB, rather than TZP, for its treatment of BB. TZP was just an instrument, and mostly blameless. Just kinda lame.
But there are people here who like the show.
O/T: How many mods does it take to move a thread? Three, apparently. And that's the whole joke.

It is a very stupid show, in my opinion anyway.

One thing I don't like about THE ZETA PROJECT is all the advanced technology they have that way outdoes BATMAN BEYOND. This takes place like 50 years in the future? We're not gonna have all this stuff at that point. ZETA really overdid it with all the future gunk.

Exactly. Batman Beyond FEELS 50 years in the future, with new technology layered over the old stuff.

Exactly! Now it's just everywhere. BB handled it perfectly becuase it looked realistic and feesible. Zeta just so overdid it.
