I wont argue Frank Miller on a technical level, but I'm not fond of the first DKR. I just didn't think it was that great and I admit, the things that happened to comics in the wake of it I'm very bitter about.
Like Bruce Timm once said "Y'know Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen worked [as standalone commentaries on the superhero genre], but they started the downward spiral of the industry because everyone was suddenly treating their superheroes way too seriously. DKR and Watchmen were great on their own because they were the exception to the rule. Now, they *are* the rule. There are alot of really dour superhero comics out there."

That's an interesting quote, and I like it. Where is it from?

Its from issue no.1 of Comicology. The interview is great and he even goes into his freindship with Alex Ross and how he keeps encouraging Alex to "throw away his damn camera".
Intresting to note, in the same interview he vows to *never* to a JLA series. ;)

Not to my knowledge, but its certainally possible.
Not sure where you would start to look for it. The publisher is TwoMorrows Publishing who also publishes the Jack Kirby Collector. So you might try looking them up on Dogpile.com or something.
Hope that helps

Thanks. I collect links to online interviews for my site, and if this isn't one I've already got (and it doesn't sound like it), I'd definitely want to add it.

Am I the only one really scared by those pics? They looks pretty bad actually. Except for the Question, the other characters look a bit off...as I had foreseen, FM isn't back to his old self.
One particular thing looks oh so bad: the colors! Those flashy colors cannot suit FM's new style. How could a talented artist like Lynn Varley ruin the drawings so much?
Hopefully the rest of the issue will look better.

I'm not really fond of the new computer colors either. I was hoping that Lynn would use use watercolors again, but with all the new coloring techniques, I'm not suprised she's changed her style abit I'm hoping this turns out good.
