The offices of a Lahore-based newspaper, whose editor and owner were arrested last week, was sealed yesterday by police.
The newspaper, The Punjab Post, which began publishing only a few months ago, has also been banned.
The incident involves the publishing of a news item prominently on the front page of the Urdu daily, in which a sum of money was offered to anyone who killed an American national.
The text suggested that a religious group was offering $4,000 to anyone who killed a U.S. citizen.

The press where the paper was being published has also been sealed.
Sources said that "the matter was brought to the notice of senior government officials in Islamabad by U.S. diplomats based in Lahore".
