View Full Version : The Incredible Hulk vs. "Santa"
Good Ol' Batmanuel!

Hi. How are you? I'm fine. Oh! *ahem* Anyway, since The Hulk movie is coming out this week, I figured I'd post a drawing I did of him once upon a time. It's basically an eye exercise, meaning I had the actual comic book beside me and I drew it freehand. It's fun and is good practice for spatial relations, anatomy, etc... The actual story inside the comic is kinda goofy (they always are when Rhino is involved :p), but it is definitely one of my favorite covers! I should have used more than just an HB pencil, but oh well. Anyway, here it is:

Very nice. I was aware that you had a Hulk pic in your msn group for a while now, but I was too lazy to check it out. Sorry I did, thats awesome. However, it would be great to see it coloured!
You got any Spider-Man's in that gallery of yours? :p

Yeah, that would be cool, but I don't have the proper tools (or knowhow from lack of experience) to get into digitally inking it, etc... Someone else can if they'd like, though! :)
As for Spidey, I don't remember ever drawing him seriously, though I've doodled him a few times. I did do Venom once, but it's a mess.

Schweet!! Any chance you'll ink and color it?

Worst crossover ever!
Have you seen the one where Hulk and Rhino play baseball? :p
Any chance you'll ink and color it?
Highly doubtful, as I don't have the tools or knowhow to do so on my computer. As I mentioned to Amazing Spidey, though, someone is welcome to try if they'd like.

Talk about needed to be prepared for somthing that would be out of control and such but giving Hilk a about being naughty, very nice drawing indeed.

I'm fine, thanks, you? *caugh, choke*
Oh! yes, I'd like.
But I'm no professional colorer. So, I might not want to post it.... I actually already started it, but I'm quite busy lately, so... I dunno if I'll ever get it done. If I do, I'll let ya see it fo' sho'.
So, I found a refernce, in case anyone other than me is intersted. http://www.hulklibrary.com/hulk/comics/comic-show.asp?ID=TIH2&Issue=378. Now we see whether or not his observational skills are really that good ;) (and they are!) I haven't found anything bigger yet, but it's late!

Don't think I didn't like the pic. That was a "Simpsons" reference: Comic Book Guy was throwing out a bunch of comics. "'She-Hulk vs. Leon Spinks'. Worst crossover ever!"

I didn't. (besides, you already told me you like it) :) I was just bringing up another goofy Hulk story. And I do remember that Simpsons quote, kinda... She-Hulk vs. Leon Spinks. Kinda like the Superman vs. Muhammad Ali comic from the 70's.

so, I really wanted to get this done before I left for Central and Upper Canada :(, but I don't think I will. But, if anyone cares, I PROMISE I'll finish it when I get back. in... two and a half weeks. Well, not promise per se, more like.... "I express my strong intention." :o So, here it is, what do y'all think? Any suggestions before I finalize? Any, say, accolades for my first official posted coloring job? *gloats* :p Anything I should add to the background when I do it? Well, it'll have to wait, I'm gonzo(in three days)! But seriously, this was fun. I discovered a lot of stuff in Photoshop(v7) along the way, so it's a real learning experience. Thanks, for making this available, Batmanuel!! :D You're "Good" (and "ol'", heh heh), I say! ;)
Enjoy! (http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/jamar/images/myprogresssofar_WBG.jpg)
(p.s. I'm currently on an older computer, and I can't tell how much blurriness was added when I saved this as a JPG. watch for an update in a few weeks :p)

Okay, so, I found some time to finish it all up. It took a *bit* of help from Good ol' Batmanuel, to get the background right, seeing as both his and my focus were on the characters. So, kindly ignore any discrepencies in the background. Or complain to him about it ;)
So again, enjoy (http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/jamar/images/hulksanta.jpg)! Especially you, Batman[uel]!. Thanks for the tips. T'was real fun.
And though I won't get to work on it soon, any critique on the quality of my coloring will be appreciated.

I certainly do again! :D Thanks, Maggie! (may I call you that?) And thanks to everyone else for the kind words. It was really fun to draw.
P.S. Hey Mags, you still missed 2 things I pointed out to you. :p

LingOL! Kinda late to ask that now, isn't it! But sure, call me whatever you want. erm, maybe not quite... Oh, and you're welcome! :D
P.S. Hey Mags, you still missed 2 things I pointed out to you. :p
Two things? Okay, I'll check it out, if I have time.... tomorrow. Couldn't have told me what they were, could you have? ;) I guess the glass in front of "Santa's" head could be less reddish, but you didn't mean that. Um... The thing over there is brownish...his thumbnail is lightened, the wall is more consitent... but the green part on the left, going up, should be darker? pfff. maybe less saturated...
Anyway, you're gonna have to tell me :p But maybe you just have to do a real refresh (ctrl+F5, at least in some browswers), or clear your temp files. Or, maybe I missed something.... :)
