Due to overwhelming demand, WB will be releasing a widescreen edition of the hit movie Cats & Dogs the same day the full frame version hits. The movie will carry a banner on the top of the front cover stating the format of the movie. The widescreen will be presented in it's original 1.85:1 ratio.

It might be too late for people to care. On many on line DVD forums, there is talk of a full blown ban for any release of a Widescreen Willy Wonka and Cats and Dogs. The general consensus is that if Warner Brothers really cared for their audience, it would not have taken a petition to get these releases done right. So I guess time will tell how well these will sell, but I think they really hurt themselves in the long run for jerking the DVD buying public around like that.

Wait --? What's the point of boycotting these DVDs? They're gertting what they want! I'd be happy - and I am! I may actually buy Cats & Dogs now.

I agree with you, DG. I think those fans are sending mixed messages to WB.

WB has shown they will cave if the support is ther e - so this gives alot of WB property fans hope that they will get to see their favorite charatcers on DVD correctly. This is why i can't wait for the WB chat on Tuesday. I just hope I can make it...
