November will be an exciting month for Cartoon Network. Scooby Doo will have wrapped up its Halloween marathon, bringing comfort back to American homes. It will also bring us Justice League, and -POSSIBLY- a brand new episode of The Powerpuff Girls, "Members Only", to air with it.
It also brings us new episodes of the critically-acclaimed and kid-approved cartoon series Dexter's Laboratory, on November 16th, 2001.
Genndy does not have as much direction on the show as he normally did, because of his heavy work on Samurai Jack. Paul Rudish will help fill in areas Genndy cannot reach, and Craig McCracken has come back to do the art direction.
The episodes are going to feature more character development. For the first time, we'll get to see Dad at work. We'll see the origins of Mandark. And, according to Genndy, there will be "lots of naked Dexter running around." Always a good incentive.
Not only Dexter's Laboratory, but Sheep in the Big City, will be kicking off a new season.
A new director has stepped in; a certain Tom Warburton, whom many people would either love or hate for Pepper Ann and The Kids Next Door.
Tom will help with the comedic timing. One of the problems of the first season was its lethargic line delivery by most of the characters, which, in my opinion, as well as others, made jokes more awkward than funny. Mo Willems is still creator and writer and voice artist for the show and just all around funny guy.
For your information, the entire season finale, "To Sheep, Perchance to Dream", the fanservice episode, will not be continued at all.
13 episodes have been ordered, and the tentative date for their arrival is November. The team is pressing to have more advertisements for the show, but it is a daunting task; a task that shows with similar fates, like Mike Lu and Og, have yet to accomplish.
Did you know Mike Lu and Og had new episodes last week?
Exactly.
