Jon showed me this link (http://www.ifilm.com/filmdetail?ifilmid=2472520) to a sneak preview of the new R&S on ifilm.

Let me just say this, you'll never look at R&S the same after this clip.....

Well, I would watch it, but one of its genres is "Erotica." I don't need that kind of stuff on my computer, so I will just wait till it comes to TV, but I have a feeling that I will be extremely disturbed.

Kinda funny how we're talking about Ren and Stimpy on this board. Always enjoyed that show nonetheless, even though John K's sense of humor can be greatly disturbing.

Interesting, I was reading in the New York Post yesterday that this new version of Ren And Stimpy was the cartoon team was going to be a gay couple   I kid you not,

Here's an old interview in which John K proudly admits that the two were always meant to be lovers.

Also mentions that there were some underlying content in the New Adventures of Mighty Mouse as well. Makes me wonder about the man himself, especially after seeing how he continued the trend with the awful Ripping Friends.

I remember seeing that episode and wondering, "What the heck was that all about?" Gandy and Sourpuss were depicted kind of like the "Odd Couple", only much less subliminally... but I guess in the time those were aired, we weren't seeing in-your-face gay media and primetime television programs like we do today.... it must be all about "progress" and exposure :p

John K. originally planned a few gay jokes in the original R&S, but Nick always caught and edited them out. For instance, in the original version of "Robin Hoek," Ren and Stimpy were happily wed at the end as opposed to the final version with Ren waking up and screaming then finding a Stimpy in drag in his bed. If you ask me, even though it wasn't John K's true vision, it was pretty damn funny.

Also, please note this clip is from "Ren and Stimpy Adult Paty Cartoon" NOT "Classic Ren and Stimpy" which features original UNCUT 7-12 minute shorts featuring the non-gay R&S.

Whether or not you want to except Ren and Stimpy as a gay couple or not, the baseball glove joke was pretty funny.

I wonder if this is just to get on Nickelodean's nevers..

This IS their worst nightmare.

Am I the only one that sees the joke here? I'm nearly positive that what we're seeing here is John K. choosing the two most ambiguously gay clips he could possibly find to freak people out.

My theory? Ren & Stimpy are literally on a sports team that involves pitching spitballs to a catcher, who catches them with his butt. They're sleeping in wacky hotels, possibly while traveling during the season. They're not having sex!

Incidentally, the Sourpuss episode of Mighty Mouse (The Ice Goose Cometh?) was awesome. I love that little marital dispute between Gandy and Mighty, that ends with Mighty Mouse pounding his fist into a table and sobbing openly.

Definitely the shining moment of the series.

Sorry, Redeye, but there's nothing ambiguous about those clips. I saw some of the storyboards for that episode and it is not about Ren and Stimpy playing on a baseball team, but rather looking for new housing. (Hence the strange locations that you thought were the "wacky hotels".) And they are definitely gay! (Or at least Stimpy is. Why else would Ren dissolve into an image of Robert Mitchum when seen from Stimpy's point of view?)

To paraphrase a popular protest chant, "They're queer, they're here, get used to it."

By the way, I think the clips are very funny and well animated. I'll hold my judgement until the shows air, though.

I know a couple of people in zee business, who have seen the first Ren and Stimpy episode in its entirety, and they have warned me to stay far far far away.

One of them said it best.. John K. has completely lost touch with reality. Or my own quote.. John K. has completely forgotten how to make cartoons.

Allen's Nickname.

Wow.

That was quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

And Stimpy's new voice sucks.

Just curious, but are there other clips available online? I've seen the "baseball" one on iFilm's site, are there any others I am missing? Thanks!

There is another clip that takes place inside a homeless man's mouth. More anal sex jokes abound.
