This seems to be a popular poll, doesn't it?

Mine too! Nothinglike seeing him get foiled again by Bugs to brighten up my mood! :D His voice is pretty funny, I'll admit...you can never tire of him saying "I'm hunting wabbits"...
...Yosemite Sam woulda gotten my vote...he's generally gets bashed a lot more by Bugs, which makes for interesting gags...

In an environment of rubber-hose and surreal animals, Betty always seemed to maintain a somewhat 'realistic' look to her.... and she still always had that appeal, even though she was just a cartoon!!
However, I'm surprised we didn't see "Jessica Rabbit", Avery's "Red Riding Hood" or "Snow White" in there- they were well animated (even when they weren't rotoscoped)....

I hear that! Especially in "Thrills and Chills"! Then again, I'm just a horny 15-year-old..:D
In terms of Animation, Tarzan, in his movements, and they way they did it is the best.....Funniest,,,Yosemitte Sam, hands down, funniest all around,,,,,,(not human,-- Daffy Duck,,,he don't get no respect, or Wiley Coyettee, the ultimate loser (But since both make us laugh, they do get respect, and are not really loosers.........Wiley Coyotee might be one of the most recognizeable toon characters, or other type of character on earth. No language is needed to know what he is all about, and no language is needed to laugh at his mistakes..Chuck and Micheal Maltese (writer on the team) were pure genius....Question, Does any one know if Christie Maltese who was a background director in Pokahontas, and, one of the major directors of "Dinosour" is a relation to Micheal Maltese?

I went with Ranger Woodlore, one of the best Disney characters ever created. I can't think of a single cartoon he starred in that I didn't enjoy. "Beezy Bear" (1955), "Grin and Bear It" (1954), and "Grand Canyonscope" (1954) are probably my favorites. The character represents one of Jack Hannah's best creations and one of Bill Thompson's best voiceover work.
It's a shame that by the time he was created, Disney was in the process of winding down their cartoon factory... :(

Even though I love Sam's temper (A cartoon version of me), I had to vote for Elmer. He is everyone's favorite lovable bafoon.

That's close, but I'd like to say Popeye. Yosemite Sam is great, but he's all comedy, and he's not very bright...Fudd is just outright ridiculous, and I like Betty Boop, Jonny Quest, Bluto, Jessica Rabbit, and Rocky and Mugsy to name but a few. Eustace and Muriel from CN's "Courage" are amusing too.
But Popeye just seems like the best human character, because he is so human...he has that special spinach power thing, but people can relate to Popeye...he's an everyman who can only take so much pushin' around...people wish they could be like him. I don't know, Popeye just works for me.

I voted for Popeye, principally on his b&w work for Fleischer.

For my second choice, I would have to either vote for Yosemite Sam or Popeye. But I can't pick between the two.
