I have high hopes for Season 3 of "Enterprise." I think that "The Expanse" will lead to a bigger, better plot that can involve eliminating a threat big enough to bring the Federation together, as well as wrapping up the 'Temporal Cold War' story arc (which they've been letting sit around unfinished for way too long).
I think that the situation that "Enterprise" is in now is very similiar to the situation that DS9 was in right before the Dominion War started. Before the Dominion, DS9 was a very boring show; there just wasn't much to do at that outpost except prevent a civil war on Bejor and keep the Cardassians at bay. However, once the Dominion made their presence known, and in Season 5 finally invaded the Alpha Quadrant... DS9 went from a boring show to the best Star Trek I'd ever seen, before or after.
Seasons 5-7 of DS9 are, in my opinion, the best of Star Trek. I think that Brannon & Braga are hoping to repeat those results on "Enterprise", starting in Season 3. What do you think? :)

Or the situation is similar to the Borg on Voyageur. The ratings were sucking with Voyageur until the producers attempted to spike the ratings with the Borg.
I am somewhat disappointed that Enterprise has taken a military campaign route.
I see them wasting time telling stories of the Enterprise beating up aliens instead of spending the time wisely forming the Federation.

That's very true... Voyager was also a boring show before they introduced (1) the Borg, (2) Species 8472, (3) the Hirogen, and (4) regular contact with the Alpha Quadrant.
Generally, I didn't care for Voyager, though the show did have its moments. In particular, I liked the following Voyager episodes:
"Caretaker" Parts I & II
"Death Wish"
"The Q And The Grey"
"Unity"
"Scorpion" Parts I & II
"Message In A Bottle"
"Hunters"
"Prey"
"The Killing Game" Parts I & II
"Timeless"
"Dark Frontier" Parts I & II
"Equinox" Parts I & II
"Pathfinder"
"Life Line"
"Inside Man"
"Q2"
"Prophecy"
"Author, Author"
"Endgame" Parts I & II
You know, now that I think about it... this is a complete list of ALL the episodes of Star Trek: Voyager I liked. The rest of Voyager's episodes were unremarkable.
But I liked Seasons 5-7 of DS9 almost in their entireity.

Does anyone think Season 3 of "Enterprise" will turn the show around?
The song "No Chance In Hell" starts playing in my head. At this point I am guessing that the formation of the Federation will be one of the last events to happen on Enterprise, maybe in the last season or next-to-last season. If so, there had better be better stories than the "Alien of the Week" garbage.
Later.

So far, Enterprise has been mediocre at best...I recently began watching re-runs of Next Generation and Voyager and they are FAR more interesting than most of the Enterprise eps. Granted, it's had its good episodes (I liked the one where they docked at the medical/repair vessel that turned evil on them), but overall it has just been lackluster.
The new Delphic Expanse plotline is definitely interesting, and I'm really looking forward to what they can potentially pull of in the third season--I'll admit that the second season finale left me wanting more! I only wish I hadn't missed the Borg episode (I think it was called "Regeneration")...well, I'll catch it in re-runs...

I really hope it does well. DS9 became most interesting after Worf joined them and the Dominion War started. Voyager started getting good once they dumped the Kazon and Kes, and then Seven of Nine joined them. So I'm hoping Enterprise will get interesting, too.

i really don't have a lot of faith enterprise right now will even make it past its 3rd season.
maybe if archer did die at 3rd season's end, and the enterprise was suddenly faced with torment by the organians with Q spying on the organians as punishment for future trespasses for a few episodes, it might turn around.
And just maybe, the discovery of the ferengi and some clashes with them once this latest crisis over, would give this series a shoot in the arm
wishful thinking, but sometimes wishes might come true.

The episode where the Ferengi put a "Trojan Horse" out for Enterprise to find. Then the machine spit out sleeping gas and knocked everyone out except Trip. He was in the decon chamber from a recent trip and was isolated. He spent most of the episode running around in his tank top and briefs while the Ferengi looted the ship... including putting Porthos in a suitcase after he wouldn't talk to them.

The Dominion war didn't start until the final episode of year 5. DS9 was far from boring during the preceding five years.
I highly doubt "Enterprise" will turn around during season 3. Even though Braga has used the word "arc" in describing what will come, Berman has specifically said it won't be an arc. The man is just dead set against doing anything serialized. As excited as Braga seems about doing something like this, I don't think it's going to live up to the potential because Berman's presence is going to hamper things. Berman was not the guy running things at DS9, which is why despite his dislike of the direction the show was heading, it still happened. Enterprise isn't so fortunate. I think Berman will make certain the show returns to self-contained episodes. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems like he's ultimately the guy controlling things and since he's never liked arc-based stuff in the past, I doubt he'll allow the format on Enterprise to come anywhere close to DS9's.

It's funny, you just named EVERYTHING about Voyager that I though ruined the show from about it's fourth season on. The first three seasons of Voyager when it was actually somewhat about a ship exploring the Delta Quadrant and trying to get home were pretty good. Then it became Janeway and Seven vs the Borg, and instead of finding a way home, they regularly just sent mail that way. I liked it before it became all about Seven, Janeway and the Doc.
As for DS9, I actually enjoyed it all 7 seasons. Like all shows it had it's ups and downs but I think the first two seasons of DS9 were heads and shoulders above anything Enterprise has had so far. Will Season Three of Enterprise save it. I'd like to hope so, but I doubt it. Berman seems to just not care anymore about the franchise and I don't see how putting them in the Delphic Expanse is going to help. But, we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully I'll get proven wrong.
