Okay, I really don't know if this has been posted before so tell me if it has. I recently got a New X-men graphic novel, "New Worlds". I don't really follow the New X-men, but I like what i read. But one thing confuses me, How is James Proudstar still alive, or alive agian. I'm not sure if any explaination was given in later issues, or if he even reappears in later issues.
Any one got a clue as to how he was broght back (and i don't mean that the author decided he should be alive, I mean an explaintion given in to his return.)

I thought he was always alive. Are you sure it's James Proudstar you're talking about or his brother John Proudstar a.k.a. The 1st Thunderbird who died in a plane explosion.

I just looked it up, and your right, but didn't James hate the X-men becasue of his brother's death? Why would he help Xavier. I'm probably missing something signifigant

When James learned of his brother's death, he blamed Professor Xavier and the X-Men. Taking his brother's name, Thunderbird, James joined The White Queen's Hellions (a fraction of the Hellfire Club called The Massachusetts Academy) and vowed to gain his revenge on the X-Men. Later, he came to realize that his brother's death was his own choice and Xavier was not to blame, so he dropped his vendetta. Xavier even offered him membership to his New Mutants Training School, but James declined, returning to the Hellions as their leader.

After a time, and many clashes with The New Mutants team, James left the Hellions and returned home to his people at Camp Verde. Later, he was invited to New York City to meet Cable, the new leader of the New Mutants, and was offered a place on the team. James again refused, arguing that his place was now with his people. However, upon returning home, James found that his entire tribe had been murdered. The only evidence left behind was a Hellfire Club Mask. Enraged and again full of hatred and revenge, he accepted Cable's invitation, changing his name to Warpath and joining X-Force, hoping to use them as a means to avenge his tribe's deaths. As a member of X-Force he adapted easily into the role of soldier expected by Cable's command, providing the strength of the team. He proved a valuable asset and as time went on, his strength and speed were ever increasing. He even traded punches with Juggernaut and lived to tell about it. While working with X-Force, James developed an attraction towards Theresa Cassidy, but he kept his obvious feelings at bay as best he could, choosing to help her as a friend through a difficult personal time despite his desires and unrequited love.

thanks, he was wearing his brothers old outfit with his own variatoin on the standard X-man jacket, this coupled with me getting their names confused, and Xavier's comment, "James Proudstar? I thought you were dead." I assumed this was the deceased Proudstar back from the grave.

No biggie :) Always glad to help. James wearing his brother's old costume is just a sign of memoriam. I think Xavier was using his light sarcasm when he said that. John hasn't shown up in an X-title in years, so for him to pop up would be a surprise to anyone.

At the end of X-Force #115 (I think that was the issue, it was the last one before the Milligan/Allred revamp) the entire X-Force team was believed to have been killed in action. I think that's what Xavier was referring to when he said "I thought you were dead".
