Okay, so if Oblongs boss died in this episode by way of the beaver helmet, then why is he still alive in the next episode?

The Oblongs doesn't exactly favor continuity. Doesn't this belong in the "Anything Else" thread?

Yeah after all, he's a "Narcoleptic Scottie" after all right?

It was the dog's dream. The fight sequence and the boss's death never happened. I know it sounds like a cop out coming from a show that practically no one likes, but hey, them's the breaks.

Well, that sucks, I wish he did really die. I hate that guy. Of course, we're supposed to hate all the people from the valley I guess, but they never get their deserved deaths. Just like real life I guess.

Actually, I wouldn't call it a "cop-out" ending since we all knew that the boss would live (since he's one of the supporting characters) and unlike Sealab 2021 or Harvey Birdman or the Brak Show or any of the WS shows, their is no real cop out ending. Boring endings, cheesy endings, bad endings, and rushed endings, but no cop out endings.
