Original Airdate - February 1, 2001
Written by Scott Adams & Larry Charles - Story by Larry Charles - Directed by Craig R. Maras
Dilbert is working a new food source called the "tomeato" that may end world hunger. Marketing dismisses the idea, but Dilbert sells them on the idea of trying the product in what he believes is the famine-ridden country of Elbonia. To get there Dilbert is forced to visit the trolls in accounting to get his travel budget increased. In Elbonia the "tomeato" is planted and begins to grow quickly in the Elbonian mud. Unfortunately this throws Elbonia into a famine, since the mud was their food source. In addition, exposed to the air to long, the "tomeato" can become explosive, so Elbonia jumpstarts its economy by turning the "tomeato" into bombs. To get the Elbonians to eat the "tomeato" Dogbert calls in a force that cannot be denied, Dilmom.

I really like Dilmom because she always seems to be a smarmy authoritative figure. how many other women do you know of (besides your own mother) who have the ability to make people
eat things that taste like crap?

Elbonia is definitely one of the last places I'd want to go to.

And those accounting trolls are so cute! I was wondering if they would ever show up in the cartoon, and they did! My brother works at an small accounting firm, I wonder how he feels about this.

Welcome to the (often sparsely populated) Dilbert threads Carolina! Nice to have you. :)

This toon never ceases to be good. This wasn’t the best episode ever, but I have no overall complaints.

Once again the show’s opening was great with a lot of funny stuff. Ratbert is just dynamite whenever he is on the screen. Swallowing the Tomeato whole is just the kind of thing he would do.

Dilbert’s first series visit to the Accounting Trolls made it’s way perfectly to the small screen. I can’t think of anyone better than Gilbert Godfried to play a troll either.

Trips to Elbonia are always entertaining and the country always seems to have something interesting going on and Dilbert trying to help always makes it more interesting. ;) Dilmom came to save the day like she often does—her cooking show to get the Elbonians to eat the Tomeato and restore the mud was excellent.

I couldn’t help but laugh with The Boss got a basket of Tomeatos and then proceeded to blow up his office with them.

Tomeatos of Mass Destruction indeed. :p
