Is anyone else excited that he's going to be the Green Lantern in Justice League? Initially when I heard he was going to be the GL and not the STAS GL, I was a bit upset. I've never read really any comics, but after reading descriptions on him, viewing pictures of him from JL and the fact that Phil LaMarr is voicing him, I'm pretty pysched now. I do hope however that "In Brightest Day..." (one of my favorite STAS episodes) isn't totally forgotten and that sometime down the road we'll get a reason why Kyle was not GL on the show. I don't like the idea of pretending that that never happened. I do like the idea that someone mentioned on this board that maybe they can say that Kyle is a GL somewhere else in the universe now.

I kind of figured they'd pick him for diversity. I don't really mind, I don't know much about the character but he sounds pretty interesting. It sounds like he could be more interesting than either Hal or Kyle, or any of the others.

Yeah, I would kind of like an eventual explanation of what happened to Kyle, but I could wait a season or maybe two to hear about it. I wouldn't really care what happened but would like some explanation.

I think they made a real good pick with Stewart. I think the angle they have on him will really cause some great group dynamics. Flash already a Kyle Rayner-esque character, so I don't mind this at all.

Yeah that's what calmed me down a little about learning Kyle wasn't going to be the GL. Wally's pretty much in that possition, so I'm sure we'll get a wonderful mesh of all the characters.

I too don't like when they just "forget" stuff. It seems heartless. But I also know our Bat team might put some little trinkets in a few episodes just to appease us. Like how Kyle got thrown into "Hal Jordan's" jet. ;)

I am also looking forward to John Stewart as Green Lantern. I mean, the comic book version of Stewart is lame, but this team of storytellers has done wonders updating and rethinking lame characters.

The Mad Hatter, Mr. Freeze, Metallo--even Superman himself has benefitted from this cartoon's reimaginings.

The crew has done a remarkable job re-imagining characters and making them interesting. The CLOCK KING is a great example of a re-imagining done incredibly right.
