My try at Lady Deathstryke from X2.

http://www.artarchive.org/artist/AlienFirst/deathstryke.jpg

It's in a slightly different style than I normally use, so most everything about it seems "off" to me. The proportions are screwed up, but I like the shading.

Since I've been getting a lot of people trying to correct me on this, no, Deathstryke's claws do NOT come out *as* her fingernails, they come out from *under* them. I have numerous picture references for this, so don't challenge me.

Sorry, had to get that out of the way. My own sister tried to correct me on that -_-

EDIT:: And my scanner was a moron and didn't do a good job of picking up the shading. Argh...

That looks really impressive. If you hadn't pointed out that there were flaws, I wouldn't have been able to notice them at all!

I especially like her eyes, which is important because, in the movie -not sure about comicworld- her eyes are a very defining feature.

And her claws look fabo -and you were definately right, that's how they come out. They come out from the middle of each finger. How could it be her nail anyways? I mean, it would be floppy and thin and... Nevermind :)

Really nice shading as well. Not too little, and yet not overpowering the picture either! Great pics as usual! :D

Thanks ^_^ It's good to know that the eyes are drawn well. That's usually my big emphasis when I draw. The whole thing can suck, so long as the eyes look good :P

Very nice. A great likeliness on her. Especially like her finderclaws, as they are often tricky to pull off right.

And its always good to see a Marvel character around here!

The hands and claws are well done, and so is the shading. :)

Wow, Tiamat, great picture! I really need to get out to see X2, and comparing your drawing to the movie version of Deathstryke will be one good reason to!

PS - I also have to agree with The Red Bird that it's great to see other artists doing Marvel characters!

Very, very well done. I really like the shading, and the inking of it. It gives it a sort of definition that seems on the whole cool, especially with Deathstryke.

Although, if I may be bold enough to encur a couple of critiques, you're right about the picture being off. The face, while pretty, seems to wide, as if the left half of head (from the ear to the back of her head) is turned at one angle, and then her face is at another. Also, her eyes are slightly small for the rest of her head. Usually, and I'm sure you know this, that the eyes are one eye width apart, and that the head is usually five eyes long. Did that make sense? Well, whatever. Spectactular picture. Better than I could manage. >hands alienfirst cookies<

I get what you're saying about the eyes. At the risk of making myself sound like I can't handle critiques, I will say that I've been drawing in an anime style for so long now, and the eyes are so completely off from realistic/semi-realistic style, that I'm incredibly out of practice with natural face anatomy. I'm definately going to pay more attention to the face width and eye size the next time I try something like this ^_~
