According to a WS staffer at AS.com, Blue Gender is coming in August, not June, which was my original hypothesis last month.

Seems to me that the official date would be July 28th, but that's not coming from him, it's just my own estimate, as July 28th also replaces Futurama with Home Movies, and that's when The Big O (season 1) starts over.

Sorry for all the anti-Reign people that got their hopes up.

Well, moving it to July makes sense in a lot of ways (since it didn't seem to fit the schedule at this time) and will be a good counterpoint for when AS get's the second season of Big O aired in August. I don't even mind waiting the two months for it, although I do have one question. Why would Williams Street lie to us like that?

Because some of the cards were written a month ago, and plans change. Perhaps back in April the idea was to air Blue Gender in June, but that's not how it worked out. After all, FUNi only just announced yesterday that Blue Gender would air on Adult Swim, which usually means the actual premiere is a couple of months away.

Yeah they did say that they wrote the cards earlier. Hm. Blue Gender in August? Makes more sense than June. Thanks.

I heard blue gender will be about the most violent (or atleast "adult") show on adult swim when it airs...is this true?? 'cause reign was pretty violent!

I haven't seen Reign, but Blue Gender is a very adult show. I also happen to think it's FUNi's best dub. Of course, I haven't heard the Lupin, Fruits Basket, and GT dubs yet.

you dont want to hear Lupin (Loo-pin!) or GT. in Lupin, Jigen has been "Sabataged!"

I don't know how "adult" it is if by "adult" you mean "possessing deep theme and meaning which only adults will understand and appreciate," because I've only seen the first DVD, and I don't consider that to be sufficient to judge such things at theme. However, I do know it is QUITE violent. If the first DVD is any indication, it is AT LEAST as violent as Reign.

It will be quite interesting if an edit list is done at animenewsnetwork.com. that way you will know how edited it is.

First to edits I know first had will be cutting the opening sequence and having a different ending sequence

Blue gender is violent it has some sexual things I think, it has alot of gore and blood and has a dark marture theme so I think it is about like 15% more adult than reign.

does it really matter what the edits are for this series? as we've seen with previous shows, [WS] has taken great care to present the program with most, if not all of the creative integrity intact. sure, some bizarre things have been removed... but if we didn't compare the uncut DVD to the broadcast, would it really have been as noticed?

it's fairly obvious they are allowed to get away with stuff to a point, and if it's crucial to the story... they leave it in. i'm guessing we're not going to see any sexual relations & i would wager that the more extreme violence with the Blue with be removed... unless it's critical to the story.

also, the cartoon network is based out of atlanta and similar networks are usually based in LA or NY. (thanks matt :D )

probably. sometimes you get jump cuts where the music times out, and lower resolution.

i actually sent out an email to some FUNi guys (Chris Sabat's was full. oy) basically asking "Please PLEASE don't censor more than you have to!" (because they censor things like "*****" and "Oh my God!" for some unexplainable reason) and to watch some AS first if they already haven't to see what they can get away with.

True, but remember: for every stupid edit they do, there's at least five "could-have-been-edits" they let slide by.

Hell, I bet the first time the s-word is uttered on AS uncensored will be through a FUNi show.

I seriously doubt that. FUNi tends to have problems with words like "ass" and "*****" even for Adult Swim. If the S word were to happen, it would be through Viz or Tokyopop.

FUNi's never had a problem with "ass." just "ass***e" and CN forbids that word anyway. i would think Pioneer would let it through (if only they hadn't made Lupin TV safe to begin with) or even Williams Street (they forgot to mop up the blood the 3rd time Rem's last living descendant's dead body was shown).

speaking of anti-Reign people, a lot of people on the AS.com boards are very anti-Reign and very anti-....LUPIN?!?! those sick bastards

I can't see how anybody can be anti-Lupin. If they don't like it, fine, but those people seem to hate it so very much. This is what I say to them:

Yeah, i figured the board wasn't worth looking at after the endless Reign and Lupin bashing, then again, that's chump change compared to other posts.
