Well... Ninjajack seems to have given up on this... so I might as well pick up the ball and run with it.

Part 2 of "The Samurai's Journey" saga of PRNS aired this morning and (IMHO) it was pretty cool. The ending was pretty rushed but other than that, not bad. Oh, and those who thought anyone other than Cam would take the Green Samurai Powers... hope you're hungry, cause I got a heaping plate of crow for you to munch on. :p

As always, comments are appreciated.

As I said on another forum, I think this was the best episode of NS to date.

The episodes that show on my ABC Kids are always a week behind these talkbacks & they showed a repeat today. Meaning, like usual, I can't participate in the talkback :(

Yeah it was nice to see the history of the Wind Ninja Academy, as well as discover the relationships between certain characters.

By the way, even after seeing this episode, some people are still in denial that Cam is actually the Green Samurai Ranger.

Best. Episode. Ever!

Wow, Kiya was bad ass. I wonder how he became an idiotic loser like Lothor. Maybe for the finale Lothor can regain his youth and use his awesome powers.

Yeah, Kiya makes Lothor look sad. Wonder what happened. I bet if he dumped those two ditzes for "nieces" he will go bad again. I personally couldn't stand the chessy of the last two minutes, but that's fine. The Ninja school stuff was great.

Ninjajack didn't give up exactly, sucks doesn't it (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?threadid=77074) .

Later.

Well... we DO have a Part III next week... so anything can happen. I still say Cam's keeping these powers.

Ok... I know I'm doing a double post here... but it's my turn for comments.

1. Cam's mom was actually quite cute back then.

2. Who would've guessed that that handsome young man would become Lothor?

3. The running gag was funny as usual. (Talent show for the bad guys)

4. As I said earlier, Cam's arrival as GSR was rushed, but it was pretty cool.

5. Line of the ep: "Is it just me, or is there a guy in Green Ranger gear standing in front of us?." GREAT moment.

As I said... I still doubt Cam will lose his newfound powers in Part 3 next week... but we shall see.

Cam's feeling were hurt. Cam is getting soft.

The rangers' ninja energy was stolen. The monster was another flavor of the week villian Finally, teleportation returns to the franchise. This episode could have been scripted better. I give "The Samurai's Journey Part I" 2.5/5 stars.

"The Samurai's Journey Part II"
I thought samurais and ninjas were rvals. Samurais were noble, and ninjas were evil. Samurais and ninjas don't normally train together. Why would a Samurai train with a clan of ninjas?

The history of the Wind Academy helps to develop the backstory between Lothor and Sensei. It is always nice to see a flashback or time travel. Cam's mom wiped the floor with Sensei. Lothor is Cam's uncle. Marah and Kapri are Cam's cousins. The Green Samurai Ranger's costume has a unique look. Cam even has his own helicopter which probably will transform into his zord. This episode was vast improvement over the last episode.

I give "The Samurai's Journey Part II" 3.5/5 stars.

-For a swift saga, that was a pretty well told story and even has a third part yet to come. I wager this will be when Cam confronts his father about his brother, Lothor.

-GREAT fights in this show! More incredible stunts pulled off and deserve a hats off that'll never be given credit simply because the show's called, "Power Rangers."

-Wait a second... Sensei's ethnicity changed with age, because the actor at the beginning before he was turned into a hamster sure didn't look Japanese to me.

-Will Cam have a limiter for his powers? And if not, will he take over as leader?

Well, the race changing thing applies for Lothor as well. I'm pretty sure both modern Sensei and modern Lothor are played by a black man.

That does get me, how did Sensei go from Asian to...well, not Asian at all(unless Grant has some Asian in him that I'm not aware of). Also, are Marah and Kapri REALLY related to Lothor, and if so, how in the world are they aliens(they said they went to evil alien school, leaving me under the assumption that they are aliens) when today's episode proved that Lothor is human? Does sensei and Lothor have another relative(assuming that Kapri and Marah are biologically related to Lothor...maybe they're Oboro's children :p )? This series has alot of question that I HOPE get answered in the future, knowing that Lothor and Sensei are related, I just hope that the finale isn't some weak cop out ending where Lother and his nieces turn good **coughTIMEFORCEcough**

Cam lands in the past and is confronted by his father younger [and sometimes tardy] self.
That was a great scene with Cam and Kanoi[Sensei’s true name], Jason Chan and Mr.Sing did some nice work there, but that was just a “prelude to the storm”

Cam is taken into the olden Wind Ninja Academy as a newbie, “Until we find out if you are Wind, Earth or water you will wear no color”ancient Sensei had a way with words, was he American? Cause I thought I heard a hint of a southern accent.

Kanoi and Kiya were played by one actor, but he pulled the job off incredibly well to an extend where I could almost swear to you that those were two different individuals. Maybe it was his swagger and smirking as Kiya and his noble attitude as Kanoi.

So Cam mother knows how to whip Sensei`s ass? Very nice choreography by Mr.Sing and Roseanne Liang. Nice use of Bushido techniques too. That pendent, reminded me of the Virtualizers, especially after seeing how it worked in the end.

If we knew how old Sensei was back then and no we`d be able to figure out what time period this was in, was it the 50`s? Maybe the late 60's or early 70's?
Cam has some great scenes speaking to his parents, especially his mother.
So, Lothor has some kind of Jedi mind trick? Now can we apply this to the whole “Sensei killed your parents” thing? Lothor probably used his magic on the Thunders just how he used it on Miko.
Jason Chan IS the best actor to come on PR in a long time. He does the role of Cam with great nobility, humility and strength.

Miko[Roseanne Liang] had some great scenes, she’s played by a really great looking and gifted actress
...I really liked the part where she almost beat the snot out of him for stealing from, I was thinking she was going to say “Biotch, this is the hood, you take my stuff I take you’r life mother ******!!”

So Kanoi[Sensei] was Captain of the Guard? That was a pretty neat scene and I was thinking it would cut to the “To Be Continued” shot right then and there when Cam being mistakenly arrested for stealing Miko’s samurai pendent.
But they didn`t and they cut to Kanoi spotting and investigating
an odd green light which turns out to be his brother trying to break open the pendent with his dark ninja magic.
Just in the nick of time to save Cam from being thrown out of the academy for stealing from a fellow student.

When Kanoi reveals that it was in fact his brother Kiya responsable for stealing
Miko’s pendent[dressed as Cam no less] all hell breaks loose. First Kiya tells everyone that he is not a man of talk, but a man of action and proceeds to shoot every one with his evil chi blasts.
He goes through the crowd attacking everyone in sight, knocking the recently rescued pendent out of Kanoi’s hands, Miko grabs it out of the air then Kiya proceeds to blow her away too, but as she falls from the blasts she kicks the pendent in mid air into Cam’s waiting hand.

Cam places his young mother’s family jewl around his neck and picks up a kendo stick that was left on the ground prior to the oncoming fight. Kiya proceeds aswell to pick up a spare kendo stick and Jason Chan’s debut as one of the most kickass nerds in super hero history begins.
First let me congragradulate Kochi Sakomoto and Alpha Stunts, Jason Chan and Mr. Sing and the Village Roadshow SFX crew for pulling off a scene that will live on in televison history as one of the best fight scenes in the history of televsion..

But to the actual fight itself, Kiya uses his dark powers to create a forcefield so that no one can interfere with the battle, then he creates a windstorm[lol] inside the field and Cam sets into the battle for his life. Kendo sticks can be deadly, they are strong from the looks of it Kiya didn`t want to stab Cam with it, he looks like he wanted to bash his skull in. Nice to see that though Cam is pretty well trained, he still had some trouble fighting the more skilled Kiya in this fight.
So the Gem packs quite a punch on its own doesn’t it? Reminded me of the Jewel of Light from Ronin Warriors in this scene.

So thanks to the help of the pendent Kiya is thrown in his own force field and defeated..
He’s stolen from a fellow student[ Miko] practice in using the dark powers, he’s going to Rita hell. But before he’s thrown into space by the old sensei, he throws away his name of Kiya and adopts the name of the great evil warrior known only, and Mr. Sing said it best, “Lothor!!”

The GSR footage was great, I wonder can Cam open his visor?

Can’t wait for prt 3 of this mini-series.

I give this ep 5 out of 5 ninja cookies.

btw, I know in Hurricanger, Kawagga Ranger and Shurikenger had one episode where the fought over Dolphin ranger, I think Tori`s apparent crush on Cam and Blake is setting this up.

No Cam should'nt be able to open In the original the helmate is the shuriken rangers head.. Unless they riged something up but, it can do something else neat. Anyway these were some decent ep IMO. If they'd had just droped the corny bits with lothor and crew it would have made it so much better. But this brings up a question how did Kiya someone who had the potential to become a cool bad guy turn into such a lame villian like Lothor. Maybe they'll have him turn into Taio Zanta and he'll get serious.

Heh... check out Rangerboard when you get the chance. A "Newbie" decided to joke around on the whole "Cam is NOT GSR" bandwagon and, boy did he/she get BLASTED for it. I ain't kidding... the rest of the board was on this newbie like the proverbial white on rice. Some folks just can't take a joke.
