Unless the June grids are revised... tomorrow, I would say it won't air in June, since revisions for and during the month is a little rare.. and when it's revised in such a scenario, it's usually a very very tiny change.

Gore - about 70% of the episodes, lots of established secondary characters biting it messily and without warning.

Nudity/sex - call it 10-20%, most of which does serve a purpose in describing the characters and the world they live in.

Yes, it's dubbed by Funi. As for the show itself, I've never seen it, but I think it's kind of like Starship Troopers meets Mobile Suit Gundam.

it was mentioned among shows at the AS panel at comic con 2002. of course, it would mean a big wait anyway. Bandai took the liberty of licensing the show months before it aired. so the dubbing production would take time because the show is still on the air over there.

Two volumes (out of three) of FLCL have come out already here in the US from SynchPoint and they're dubbed (quite nicely). Bandai has the rights for Witch Hunter Robin but they just announced them so the show isn't dubbed yet. Don't know the status of the others.

As for Ninja Scroll TV, it's based off the very violent and sexual movie with a good plot. The difference is the TV series tones down the sex, but keeps most of the gore in.

Now that there's a spot for anime on Sunday nights (a weekly spot), I'd give the FLCL thing a little more (not much more) credence. I couldn't see CN showing a six episode show in a daily spot (even though they did show Gundam 0080 on Midnight Run) but a weekly spot would be nice. Of course, I want to see SynchPoint get the last disc (and the sweet box they've been showing for all three discs) out before it hits the airwaves (if it ever hits the airwaves)

It's like Initial D is an anime that is coming to US television. So is Ninja Scroll. We just don't know where.

That's always possible. I actually wouldn't be too surprised if that promo was an attempt at "greasing the wheels", so to speak, in getting on the distributors good side for a possible deal. Would be a great show to pick up, that's for sure. :)
