This is an interesting vintage art piece...don't run accross many of these. I think it's from "Wacky Wildlife"...it's the 'timid' Tex Avery deer that asks "how about a handout?!"

Hi Matthew~

Yep it's Tex's timid deer... The punchline to this is that they had it up for auction last week with an opening bid of $185 with a secret "reserve" price. It didn't sell. Soooo this week it starts for $350 but with no reserve price!! There have also been a couple of cels from Avery's "Screwball Football" up for auction, which went unsold. Even more intriguing was that another more notable art gallery had a mega-rare original animation drawing (in color!!) of Porky from "Old Glory" with the initial "B" on it. The gallery thought the "B" stood for Bob (as in McKimson), it could just as well have stood for "Bickenbach" though. I made a private offer after the auction failed, and regretfully somebody else had beaten moi to the punch :(
