--Shaggy looks pretty authentic...and Velma looks like a Japanese girl I had a fling with in college years ago. But the rest of the costumes are terrible, esp. Sarah Michelle-Gellar as Daphne, and Freddie Prinze going scarfless as Fred (there's a good joke lost right there--some redneck sees his kerchief, calls him a bleach-blonde rhinestone cowboy, and stubs out a cigarette on his forehead). I mean, if this movie plans to parody the series, like Brady Bunch, it could be a hoot, but if it's going to try and take itself seriously, then it's going to go swirling down the porcelain. Will we at least see Fred and Daphne caught making kissy-face in a broom closet, or Shaggy getting stoned on some good chronic? Such great gag potential here!

While I'm impressed at how they rendered Scooby's fur (from my understanding hair/fur and skin tones are the hardest things to do when doing CGI) his head just doesn’t look "right".



And am I the only one who thinks FPJ looks like he's about to loose his lunch?

like I stated in another thread, I think it looks fine. Daphni's clevage isn't right though. I hope they "close" it when it is released in theaters...

Me thinx this l00k5 l1ke crap. Shaggy isn't shaggy enough. He should B lankier too. Can he do the shaggy voice? Because there R tons of actors out there that can do the shaggy voice. They shouldn't settle for someone who can't. The Brady Bunch movie was sooooo lame. It was one of the worst movies ever. I can't B Lieve I saw that tripe in the theatre...What was I thinking?!?!? Personally, I hope this bombs. Scooby Doo looks mega fake. He looks like one of those velvety animal statues old ladies collect and buy from garage sales. I dont' know what they are made out of. felt? Some kind of felt?

I never could stand that cartoon. I sure as hell dont' want to see a movie based on it. Unless the Monkees are going to B in it? Do they have a guest apperience?

What is this movie rated anyway?


GAH! I just showed the picture to my suite mate and she said it looked "cute." And now she's looking forward to it. Well, that just inforces what I thought about her all along.

I think I read somewhere (quite posibly this board) that they only wear those outfits for a flashback scene, and in the rest of the flick they wear "contemporary" clothing. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Even though I hate Scooby Doo, I'll probably end up seeing this flick. :(

No such luck... this IS their modern look. In the flashback Fred had the ascot and Daphne looked more or less like Daphne (though the flashback outfit also showed way too much cleavage, I thought). What you see is what we're gonna get.

I agree, Shaggy is too neat looking and actually has noticable biceps. He need be thin and gangly. Shaggy looks even more fit than Fred, which seems just plain wrong.

I'm not too sure about Scooby. I think it might have been better if they just did one totally cartoony looking a la Rocky and Bullwinkle, instead of one that is half-cartoon and half-real looking.

The only one who sort of looks right is Velma, Shaggy looks like Mr. Clean with hair, Freddie looks just plain wrong, and Daphnie is supposed to be a redhead who wears more clothes (and her clothes are supposed to be a cooler purple). Scooby is freaking me out at the moment, if I were a little kid, I would find that halk dog-half cartoon character really scary.

I'll still watch it, though...

The pic really doesn't give much hope for the movie. The first time I saw the pic I couldn't help but chuckle abit. I really can't see this being a $100 million dollar hit. Then again, CATS & DOGS was a huge hit, and the Scooby DVDs still sell good...

Scooby looks like he's high. As for the rest of it....Its ok, I guess. I just can't get too enthused over it.
