View Full Version : A couple of questions about Marvel vs Capcom 2

1.) I have beaten the game a couple of times now, but next to my high score it always says Wins: 0. I even beat it on the highest difficultly level. How come it's not counting any wins? Is it because I haven't unlocked all the characters yet? Does something extra happen once you have all of them?

2.) Sometimes when I play against the computer, the other team will do a combo move where all three characters come out at once and do a hyper combo together. How can I make my guys do that??

As I recall, it's QCF+Both Assist buttons.

Which version are you playing? Dreamcast, PS2, or Xbox?

If I am not mistaken, wins are only counted like in the arcade version: when you play against human opponents.

As for the first one, the wins they are counting are wins from versus matches within Arcade Mode, I believe. It's either that or they're tracking your Arcade winning streak. I think that if you lose a match and continue, Wins is reset to zero.
As for the second one, if you are on PS2, all you have to do to execute a Team Hyper Combo is press both character assist buttons simultaneously.

Got this game today. Does anyone have a link to a good guide for it? I'm struggling to beat the last boss (who is retarded - whats wrong with using a decent Marvel villian?)

Thanks for the tips, guys!

Red Bird, I don't really know of any good sites... but, the team I had the most success with against the boss was Captain America (using his charge attacks against the first incarnation), Iceman (using his snowstorm attack againt the second incarnation) and Cable (using his laser attacks against the third incarnation). Try that team and see if you have any luck!

The simplest way to beat Abyss is to have a team filled with beam and/or beam super users. People like Cable, Iceman, Cyclops, Ryu, etc. all work really well.

Once you figure him out, Abyss is really easy, and can be beaten with any 3 characters.

Just make sure you use projectiles for his second form, and on his third form, make sure to block all his attacks, and when he emerges from the floor, hit both assist buttons at once to use a team Hyper Combo. Keep blocking at all costs, and only hit him when you're sure he won't attack (immediately after he emerges from the floor).

True true. I think my best team i've used is Ryu Wolverine and Akuma.

I've beaten him now. I used Wolverine, Cyclops and Spider-man. Its easy now, as everyone said. Now, to unlock those secret characters. So far I have Storm, Omega Red, Iron Man, War Machine and adamantium Wolverine. I have enough for Collusus but, I saw him once, and he hasn't been back since. Is there a way around this?

This unlocking stuff is beginning to annoy me. I seem to get the same crap each time (mostly Capcom who I have no interest in) and the new colours and the gallery stuff. Is there anyway to get more Marvel stuff to appear?

It's pretty much random, just keep buying stuff for more characters to appear.

(Personally, I just bought the characters first and didn't worry about the gallery and colors until later.)

Can any of you guys tell me how to tag my 3rd partner in.

For example if I play as
Spider-man
Iron Man
Captain America

How, when playing as Spider-man do I tag the Captain in to play as him.

Is it possible and if so, how do you do it?

Press Strong Punch and Strong Kick at the same time. I guess that would be Triangle and Circle on the PS2 controller.

You may have to buy an alt color or gallery portrait for a character if you keep seeing him over and over (and over...)

But the best way to get more characters available to buy is to play the other 1 player mode, I think it's called "Score Attack" or something like that. Play it once or twice through and then check the store, you should have new charcters available.
