When they were talking about DVDs, for a second I thought they were talking about Sealab.

For those wondering, during the credit sequence, the character in the video game going "Lightning bolt! Lightning Bolt!" is a reference to a video shown on the internet showing live action role playing in which a character throws sticks or rocks at a fake monster screaming "Lightning bolt! Lightning Bolt!" I never thought that they'd use that as a reference.

Classic.

This was good.

I don't really have anything else to say, other than, "That wacky Sealab crew!"

Sealab 2021: "Brainswitch" Hmm...for Sealab, this was a bit on the weaker side for me. It just seemed a lot of the things that should've been funny weren't. The main plot was nonsensical (which is a good thing), but a lot of the induvidual jokes weren't that good (IE Murphy's game, which wasn't very funny). Highlight for me was Marco's entire attitude towards the wedding. "Coma wedding!" Still going to go with a C+.

Positives: Marco's Wedding Attitude, Sparks and Black Debbie, past episode references (Master Loo!)
Negatives: A lot of jokes felt flat in this one

(IE Sparks hitting his head on the control panel for no reason,

I guess no one has ever talked to you about their everquest character. This is a null point if you play everquest yourself though...

Quinn may be Stormy and Stormy Quinn but this is still the Sealab 2021 Episode Review of "Brainswitch".

Action Abe, Bomb Squad Rabbi was a funny gag to start of the episode, but this one wasn't that great when compared to ATHF and HM (Good to Birdman though). You know when they had that the clock in the beginning, I thought it would be a goof on "Watching Elle" where a clock ticks down to how much time's left in the show, but oh well. Looks like they're weren't any brain switchings at all, just Stormy managing to fool everyone into thinking he's smart and then Quinn being in a coma. Funny returns of the Fueng Shuei Guy and Black Debbie as well (Never expected her to have a love affair with Sparks. "I love it when you act militant"). Other good scenes included Murphy being tricked into thinking Stormy could teleport, not to mention the Captain's mention of the D&D rippoff group he joined and playing an online game and losing to that pet monkey of Quinn's that turned on him. The other crew had some good scenes, like Debbie wanting to immediatley marry Quinn after hearing what would happen to his penis and then Marco trying to suffocate the unconcious Quinn with a pillow. The ending was a sham though. After seeing ATHF's "Super Birthday Snake" the old trick ending just ain't going to work. Although it was funny when they showed Adam and Matt (Sealab 2021 writers) saying how stupid it is. For good measure, they should have shown it was all a VR dream of Meatwad's. That would have been fitting. Oh well, good episode on it's own. A-

I thought this was better (or at least as good as) the last few Sealabs. The plot points and even much of the humor was recycled material, but it still was pretty funny and entertaining.

Stormy's being really dumb can often get tiresome quickly, but in this one it was pretty funny throughout. His interactions with Captain Murphy were defintiely the highlight of the episode. They were some of the best Sealab scenes I can remember from the last batch of episodes (which, admittedly, isn't saying a ton).

I also liked seeing Quinn's room and hearing Murphy talk about his game character. With this and the Wolfenstein reference from the Squishface episode, it seems certain that the writers are game geeks. Cool.

Seeing the return of Balck Debbie and Master Loo was fun, but not all that great comedically. The pull out ending (or, rather, endings) definitely brought the episode down some. I know they talk about how bad they are, and Sealab endings have always been cop-outs, but this was just boring.

This was a good episode that, while it doesn't match the first few, still manages to entertain and provide some laughs.

Oh, I get it! Went right over my head! Bah, that was a good joke, then. :D

Boobie.Boob.Oob. Three words that changed Sealab forever. Nice return of the Feung-Shuei guy redecorating Quinn and Debbie's room. The way Murphy was hyped up about his Marduk game reminded me of some familiar people I know who ramble on and on and on about Everquest...I eventually resort to what Sparks did. This episode showed how Stormy should NEVER be Science officer, and the cameo by the creators was classic. Don't forget [insert monkey's name here].

nice episode... definitely exceeded my expectations for the show sans mcchris. they did use a lot of recycled bits though, and that got on my nerves, but i loved how they just "decided" that quinn and stormy had switched brains after stormy said "equilibrium". that's classic sealab.

Excellent. I loved it, and I'm glad I taped it. I'm sure that, with most Sealab episodes, this one will only get better with time, and with every subsuquent watching I'll notice more "hidden Sealab jokes" that you only notice after you've watched the episode multiple times, such as all the references to past Sealab eps and other goodies.

Overall a very good one, right up there with some of the best. I'm looking forward to more of these new ones.

Since most people have already covered this one pretty well, I'll just summarize what I think. Started funny, had a few good jokes in between, and ended funny. Doesn't capture the same magic Sealab had in season one, but it was alright.

C: A rating becoming far too typical of Sealab anymore...

Sucked, as all Sealabs do. Now it seems they're trying to rip off the ATHF style of storytelling, only they can't quite pull it off, what with the fact that the writing is horrible and none of the jokes work. Well, actually, there were jokes, right? The ending had a joke, I guess. But the first 10 minutes of the episode was just slightly humorous talking that had no cleverness to it. So I guess it fails on all levels. Except for the ending. Which is just a lame rehash of a joke from Tinfins anyway.

I liked it, it was typical Sealab weirdness. Black Debbie was fun to see again and so was Master Loo. I'm actually glad they avoided putting ATHF in the ending like thay have already.

I'm going to go out and say this is the worst Sealab yet. The writers are too tounge in cheek for their own good.

No, I just thought that the last batch of Sealabs seemed funnier when they premiered than this new one.

I agree this Sealab wasnt up to snuff. I just hit a string of negative posts by you and remembered a few negative ones in the past few months and I tried to make a connection.

I think they mentioned penumbral. I also have no clue what happened to his penis. I just guessed it got bigger something and that's why Debbie wanted to marry him. This episode did fall flat. Is it me or does Marco seem more sensitive with each passing episode? Rating C-.

I thought this was a good episode; probably the best of the Williams Street line-up of the night. Stormy's flashbacks had me laughing hard, as it was so in-line with his character. Action Abe was funny, though (call me a jerk if you must) I was kinda hoping Abe would be a more "stereotyped" rabbi. Murphy's EQ-style game was great, as was Sparks' response. "Booby." It's too hard to explain, but watching all the characters pretty much fall apart as the episode went along was really funny. And the Indian doctor yelling "Woo-hoo!" at the prospect of a coma wedding was comedy GOLD. Despite all the praise, I have to say that there were some flat parts and joke droughts. B overall.

It's a condition where blood flows into the penis, but can't flow out...I don't think TZ's user policy allows me to detail it anymore than that. :moon2:

Very good, solid episode. I was pleasantly suprised that it was a faked brain switch, rather than a real one. It was especially funny seeing Stormy's attempts to do "smart" things. Nice to see that Debbie's still only after one thing :quinn:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who liked the false endings on this one. In fact, I thought it was better than ATHF's (which I thought was okay).

This show was the lol funniest show of the new WSs. I'm not a gamer (even the comic books I read are indies), so I didn't know most of the real game references, but, in a way, I think stuff like the head-banging (literally) is even funnier if you don't know. Then it's like just random surreality. Saying,"why the hell's he doing that?" and liking it at the same time.

Although there is alot to be said about enjoying an archane reference you know, but some viewers don't necessarily. I really liked the "Theme from 'Mahogany' " ref in HB:AAL, for example.
