From Animated Movies:

The Disney CEO can't help himself from getting involved in the details when he’s passionate--about making a movie or, better yet, making a deal. "I’ve been nervous about these gnomes since day one," Eisner warned his animators during a recent meeting, according to Newsweek. Eisner fears the protagonists of Gnomeo & Juliet, a tale of forbidden love among lawn ornaments, may look klutzy and tacky. His new animation chief, David Stainton--whom Eisner plucked from the TV-animation division with an eye toward holding down feature costs--assures him the gnomes will be nimble and their gardens only "a bit garish," with a supporting cast of plaster frogs, a Greek torso and a pink flamingo. Eisner likes the flamingo. "Remember the flamingos in Fantasia 2000?" he muses. "That came from 10 years of my wife and a major shareholder sending uglier and uglier flamingos to each other as a joke."

"I’ve been nervous about these gnomes since day one,"

Eisner is worried? I do not know if that is good or bad.

a tale of forbidden love among lawn ornaments

The Disney company's ideas just get weirder and weirder.

Eisner likes the flamingo. "Remember the flamingos in Fantasia 2000?" he muses. "That came from 10 years of my wife and a major shareholder sending uglier and uglier flamingos to each other as a joke."

That is too crazy to believe. If it is true, it shows who Eisner got his thoughts from.

What's next?
Disney Presents: "All's Cuddly on the Western Front"

Now if you would excuse me, I have to go jam a hot poker in my mind's eye for having that thought.

With brillant artists such as Eisner and Stainton behind this, how can it fail!? [/sarcasm]

Whats next? MacBeth featuring a cast of old cars in a junk-yard?

Oh crud, I'd better stop giving Disney ideas!!

Eisner fears the protagonists of Gnomeo & Juliet, a tale of forbidden love among lawn ornaments, may look klutzy and tacky. How could they NOT look that way? :p
