Just to let everyone know, Boomerang in the UK is doing a whole week of nothing but Looney Tunes cartoons next week, from 6am to 9pm every day! It starts at 6am on Monday, but it's yet to be seen what they'll show.

They'll probably mess it up by showing a few eps of Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries, and some of the LT movies interspersed with the classic theatrical shorts. Still, might be a good opportunity to get some rare LT cartoons on tape!

Speaking of rare cartoons, remember that 95% of the Looney Tunes are uncut when shown on Boomerang UK! The only ones I've seen edited are "I Taw a Putty Tat" and "Confederate Honey". Other edits stem from original syndication TV prints or re-issue Blue Ribbon copies (e.g. The Crackpot Quail), and are nothing to do with Boomerang's censors.

Was just watching some regular Looney Tunes (on their normal timeslots) today, and it looks like CN UK has started to administer some of the same censor cuts as CN US to the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies :(

Claws for Alarm had the noose scenes removed, but oddly not the rifle-shooting moose head! Ballot Box Bunny had a fake iris-out after Dark Horse was elected the 'mare'.

So it looks like the LT marathon they're having won't be uncut cartoons after all!
(Thankfully I already have most of the censored scenes as .AVI files)

Oh god, this is terrible! I've lost all respect for CNUK now.

I think they're only removing noose scenes if a character is shown in hanging position, or very nearly hanged. Transylvania 6-5000 is still uncut, because nobody is hanged by the noose - Bugs just uses it to ring the door chimes.

Also looks like Chinese and Indian stereotypes are still acceptable here. It's only the black and Asian stereotypes that are removed. Eye-poking is also deleted.

Even so, I'll still be watching next week. Maybe they'll show the Duck Dodgers and the return of the 24 1/2th Century cartoon, albeit censored.
