I wish they had shown "Jitterbug Follies" instead of "Wanted: No Master". The I would have both Count Screwloose/J.R. the Wonder Dog cartoons!!

Actually, I wouldn't object if CN gave the Captain and company a little time off (and PD Betty, too --- but at least "Rise to Fame" was a good cartoon, so I won't complain too much). Those C&tK shorts have been played a lot these past few months on LNB&W. But I do agree that what we need is some more B&W Warner cartoons that they haven't shown yet.

I decided to "dust off" a video from my library and watch the CZ versions of Puss N Booty, Daffy's Southern Exposure and Porky's Bear Facts. All were recorded off Nickelodeon with WB shield open and Porky drum close. So they're not in B&W, but they're still better than the redrawns on CN. Among others, I also have CZ versions that haven't been shown in any form on CN, The Daffy Duckaroo and Porky's Phoney Express.

"Jitterbug Follies" is rarely shown because of the "black birds."
CN usually shows this one edited. It was shown uncut on
the special uncut ACME HOUR.

I used to have "Jitterbug Follies". I taped it many years ago during the early days of CN when they had their "Black & White Christmas" -- 24 hours of nothing but black & white cartoons. I wish I still had it...
I'm with you, John Doe -- better the computer-colorized prints of "Puss'N' Booty", "Daffy's Southern Exposure" & "Porky's Bear Facts" than the redrawn versions. "Puss 'N' Booty" is one of my favorites!
As for the other two you mentioned - "The Daffy Duckaroo" & "Porky's Phoney Express" - I have those also. I too taped them off of Nick many moons ago.

Woah, CN did 24 hours straight of nothing but B&W cartoons? I've had CN since mid-95, musta been before I got it. That's great!! I demand details! :D

That's pretty cool, I never heard of that special. I bet it was mostly Popeye though... (since CN didn't have rights to the B&W Porkys back then)
BTW, if anyone would like to send copies of the CZ versions of cartoons to me, that are almost IMPOSSIBLE to find, I can make a B&W version of it. I've done this with several cartoons, and they look just find. The only drawback is that pesky colorized logo at the bottom of the screen...

The cartoons I taped off Nick don't have that obnoxious logo, thank God!
Okay, Mike, you want details, you got them:
The first year CN was on (before AOL/Time-Warner took over), CN had a holiday special called "Black & White Christmas". It was 24 hours of B & W Popeyes, H-I Merrie Melodies and B & W Captain & The Kids. They also showed 2 unique cartoons - "Jitterbug Follies" & "Wanted: No Master". I had never seen them before and had read of them only in Leonard Maltin's "Of Mice & Magic".
It was real cool. I did marathon tapings (commercials and all), but when I moved in 1994 to the complex where I'm at now, the tapes disappeared. Hopefully someday I will find them amongst all my crap that I have accumulated in almost 36 years of life.
Personally, it would be neat if CN would do something like that again. Who the hell wants to see "A Pacman Christmas" for the umpteenth time?!? Not I!!

Whoa! you can do that? Count me in! I have a CZ copy of
"Porky the Wrestler" taped off CN without their annoyinying trademark logo. It would be nice to see it in B&W. I also have a few LT sepiatoned titles from PD tapes I'd like in B&W. So Thad please PM or e-mail me!

Yep, gotta love BESTBUY. I bought some video copier from it for $50 or $40 bucks, in July, and it's been severly worth it...

Did the Popeyes still have their end titles?

Yes, the Popeyes had their AAP title and end cards.
