Below is the box office estimates for this weekend. I was suprised HARDBALL only dropped by about 13%! Meanwhile, THE OTHERS is still doing great and may possibly break $100 mill! Here's the results:

1. Hardball - $8.2 million ($19.4 mill)
2. The Others - $5.2 million ($80.2 mill)
3. The Glass House - $4.4 million ($11.7 mill)
4. Rush Hour 2 - $3.7 million ($215. 7 mill)
5. The Musketeer - $3.5 million ($22.6 mill)
6. Two Can Play At That Game - $3.2 million ($18.2 mill)
7. Rock Star - $3 million ($15.4 mill)
8. Rat Race - $3 million ($51.6 mill)
9. Jeepers Creepers - $2.8 million ($33.6 mill)
10. American Pie 2 - $2.7 million ($139.6 mill)

Mariah Carey's movie Glitter opened in 11th place with only $2.5 million. Ouch. Also, The Others was actually up 14% from last weekend. This is the first time a movie has gone up since Shrek!

Looks like another visit to the funny farm for Mariah...

Yeah, the critics have been savaging it. The critic's cross-section (compiled by rottentomatoes.com) came up with only 6% positive reviews. Heck, even Battlefield Earth did better than that.

Looks like this will be "exhausting" news to poor Mariah...

Ouch, It looks like Mariah will have another thing to go crazy over.

But on the bright side, RH2 is really hanging in there. Can you say Rush Hour 3?

Actually, a lot of people think the Others is pretty good.........

Haha, I know. The Others wasn't that bad. I was just REALLY disappointed. Everyone said it was really scary & whatnot. Then, it was just so...bland. But, it was a good story. Just..boring, I guess. So, I was just disappointed..

People were expecting Glitter to do good? I had no idea. Why would people want to see that movie?

Maybe they had a couple of bucks burning a hole in their pocket and had to get it spent on whatever. And sadly, they spent it on this movie. Life can be so cruel some times. and as for the Battlefield Earth crack, ouch. That was so cold, yet so true...

I guess Mariah Carey's fanbase is a lot smaller than they thought it'd be. I mean, seriously, besides the whole breakdown thing, we havent heard much from her ever since Britney and Christina showed up on the scene.

Nah, more likely that fans are fickle people. They move from one trend to another without much regard to long-term loyalty.

I didn't think "The Others" was very good, but I was very grateful that it was out there--a horror film that wasn't a teen-scream fest. That's why I went to see it, and maybe others are feeling the same way. . . ?

We sure are hitting the stagnant part of the summer, eh? Ya know what's wierd? About this time last year, Reeves had a #1 movie with THE WATCHER - a movie even he panned! I hope things pick up soon...

I was reading in one of those supermarket tabloids yesterday that Mariah is still incarcerarted in the booby hatch, suffering from bipolar disorder. She often crawls around on the floor acting like an infant, has to be restrained and spoonfed, once jumped into a tub and bathed with her clothes on, has been known to flash asylum employees and make lewd comments, and has paranoid delusions of J. Lo and Britney plotting against her. True or not, it's very disturbing....

I wonder of the really poor performance of this movie and the mediocre reponse to the soundtrack will mean the end of carye's career. Unlikely...
