Just more than 89 million people watched the multi-network broadcast of "America: A Tribute to Heroes" Friday night (Sept. 21). I must say that ius impressive, but with almost 30 networks airing it at the same time, as well as endless radio stations - it was hard to miss. I didn't watch it even though I wanted to. Who watched it? Opinions?

I really liked it a lot. In fact I almost wish I taped it because they had some performers singing some songs I really like and haven't heard in a while.
The celebrety spots inbetween performances were a very nice touch, and they said some very profound things. It was also cool to see some of your favorite stars of course. My own personal highlight was when Robin Williams, of whom I've been a fan since I was born, said a thought I myself came up with and was shocked and pleased to hear it said. "Courage isn't conquering your fears and safely moving on. It's knowing you're afraid, but moving on strongly anyway. I really liked that.
I was watching it on MTV, but the feed wasn't all that good, and I found a better picture on The WB.
It was a wonderful tribute for a more than worthy and wonderful cause.

I didn't watch it. I must have been watching one of the networks that didn't air it.

I missed it, though I'm not sure if I may have watched it for the whole duration if I saw it on TV. My parents saw it, though, and said it was what you would expect from a telethon designed to help those in need. Serious, sad, sometimes poignant, but a very "heavy" air to it. You watch it for the reflections, not for the entertainment.

I had to work that night & forgot to tape it. I got home in time to see everybody sing at the end.
BTW, did anyone hear how much money it raised?

It's estimated at $110 million. They are hoping to release the final numbers Monday sometime.
