For those of you who don`t know, or get UPN, Digimon has been new since Mother's Day.
Today the two Royal Knights of Lucemon showed up, and geeeeeeeeez thats more firepower then I`m use to seeing digimon having, an attack that summons a 200 foot dragon that shoots a blinding shockwave of power? My goodness wheres Dukemon when you need him?
Very good episode today, the kids got their butts handed to them, not even the Trinity Evolution was able to stop these /two/ knightmon, this diabolical duet dueled a deadily tango.
I actually can`t see the kids winning in this battle.

hey, mc
Anywho, man, those Royal Knights are tough cookies. They kick total arse. Even Unity spirit evolution could beat these badies. and finally we get a look of lucemon.

Lucemon's an adorable little thing, even if he is evil. (once again, my love of psychotic anime kids who are a lot older than they should be comes into play)

Lucemon starts out cool, but the series abrupt shortening from 54 episodes to 50 caused his whole story to end up rushed, and not realy living to the potential that was hinted at earlier on.

I completely forgot about today's episode, but I remember now to tape the rest of the week.
I did see Cherubimania, though.
Though I do wish they left RhodoKnightmon as a male...=)

That sounds like you get consistent reruns. I wish I were you :p . I just got to see Cherubimania and boy do I wish I had been able to see the episodes that showed who that other kid was that looked like Kouji, the unity evolutions, and how the gang defeated Mercurimon.
Yes, I'm still bitter. Who's a good fansubber?
Just kidding. I'll wait to see what ABC Family does first. But my fingers are starting to hurt from all this finger crossing.
For the episode itself, I'm a little disappointed that it has boiled down to the two team leaders that get to fight in the end because they're the strongest formula. I miss the good old days of 01 where everyone ganged up on the final big bosses.

I’ve seen all 52 episodes in Japanese. Why did they change Hyper Sprit Evolution it rocked and the theme song rocked it was awesome. Anyway there will be Dragon Ball Z style fighting in the very last 3 episodes.
They beat the royal knights, but Lucemon will take their data and transform into something out of Dragon Ball Z. I mean it has awesome power to destroy the Digimon by ramming the moon….. Then he dies in the Digital World and light and dark become one…. Then the ultimate is revealed…. Then fighting on the planet earth in the human world. Then before that they make fun of Digimon Adventures and Angelmon…

I've seen the entire series in Japanese and can tell you that final c is bsing. There are only 50 episodes, not 52, and barely any of that stuff happens.

Thank you. I was seriously upset for a little bit, since I'm still fuming over the X2 reviewing fiasco from last week at school. I suppose I shouldn't have bitten Final C's head off though, if he was just messing around.

This week had some of the most enjoyable episodes this season. In large part, it was due to the return of the comedy and childlike "Wizard of Oz"-like flights of fancy that have been the distinctive hallmarks of "Digimon Frontier." Yet, the basic storyline is as grave as ever, with the same agonizing moments of suspense we've had ever since the kids were quite literally dumped off a trailmon at the border of darkness. It's an interesting mix that works. At the very least, we finally found out what happened to all those other kids who boarded the trailmons out of the earth terminal that fateful day.
We had some touches very reminiscent of the early first-season Digimon episodes, with the Village of Beginning and Swanmon. Though differing in a number of respects from Digital Adventures, you still have the return of the idea of Digimon after death going back to rebirth, and the danger that the Digimon will never come back if that village falls to the enemy. And of course, we have four new kids that go back to the Digimon Adventures concept of basically hiding behind their Digimon (yes, one of the Digimon Frontier characters comes out and specifically states that!), and Angemon buys the farm again. The way those four kids acted throws into question how Ophanimon could have ever thought they were pure in heart--until they meet up with the Mamemon though, which seem to bring out hidden qualities in them. Still, the subplot did get to be pretty irritating, because our heroes really had no answer to the Royal Knights, so they really did need some type of calvary riding to their rescue (aside from Baromon and Angemon--*sigh, again* playing sacrificial lamb to buy time for our heroes to escape), and these new kids basically proved worthless.
Or did they?
Of course, on Friday our heroes finally did manage to defeat the Royal Knights through the 10 legendary warriors finally reuniting (as I recall, it was the 10 warriors combined that originally overthrew Lucemon in the first place). Their four former archfoes teaming up with them at a crucial moment was a shocking twist, yet made perfect sense in context of the storyline. The only problem is, the four are never going to be able to hatch and grow up in time to be any help to our heroes. Yet...I can't help but note that any number of kids might have chosen to ignore Ophanimon's order to go home. However, is it mere coincidence that Katsuhara, Teppei, Teruo and Chiaki happen to number four, and their ranks of three boys and one girl corresponds perfectly to the four vacant slots of the 10 legendary warriors? Hmmm...I wouldn't be surprised if next week, we find out that Wormy didn't quite reach Earth with those four kids... Otherwise, I don't know what our heroes are going to do at the final showdown with Lucemon, because not only is Emperor Greymon and Magna Garurumon currently their last ace in the hole, but Unified Spirit Evolution leaves the remaining team members dangerously vulnerable when the manuever doesn't work.
Unlike the first three seasons, the presence of the human kids in the digital world this season has been generally assumed to be out of total magnanmity on their part, with the kids being continually asked to return to earth for their own safety when it started to look like they could do nothing to save the digital world. However, I wonder if our heroes would have been so eager to send the other four kids home, if they had known of the bargain that Dynasmon and Crusadermon were striking with Lucemon! From what almost happened to Katsuharu at Beanstalk Village, the prospect of humans being turned into digital eggs seems very real, and if Lucemon defeats our heroes, earth could be facing a scenerio not much unlike Silent Mobius, in which other-dimensional monsters emerge to devour humanity....
The mystery of why the other kids needed medical attention by Starmon on the moon to heal their injuries, while Kouichi survived virtually unscathed, was never addressed in that episode. However, I would suspect the reason is that while the other kids' physical bodies were translated into data in the digital world, Kouichi's digital form is actually the translation of an astral body, while his physical body was left on earth. In other words, not unlike Shibumi Mazuno's situation in Digimon 03, in which he traveled to the digital world while his physical body remained asleep on earth--at least until someone woke him up at just the wrong moment...(hmmm, which gives rise to another worry, suppose someone should decide to wake Kouichi out of his coma just at the moment that his companions need him most?).
End of episode 43. Just seven more to go, and I'm at the edge of my seat...

Anyone else notice that the VAs of Tai (Joshua Seth), Davis (Brian Donovan), and Kazu (Brad MacDonald) return as those three new guys with the Angemon? I'm not sure if the girl was voiced by a former VA or who for that matter.
Always glad to hear them again.
