Well this year has been one crazy rollercoaster ride. The storyarc were outta of this world;the villians were badder then ever which meant that our favorite gang of champions had to up the ante. And now it all ends with this episode. Well last weeks episode closed the chapter on what seemed to be a 4 season story arc and now this episode opens an all new chapter to what will seem to be an infinite story arc.
All I can say about this upcoming season finale is:
You Think You Know The Crew Of Angel Investigations, Well You Have Abosolutley No Idea.
Angel airs tonight on the WB at 9:00pm(est)
So Any Thought Or Comments On Tonight's Season Finale????

Guess who has to wait until next week to pick up a tape from another city so he can see the finale... :(
For some reason or another the WB is out, here in Madison, WI.

All i have to say is....wow. That was a great ep. If this is the last angel(god forbid), that was a very good ending for the series. The ending scene was touching. Giving Connor a chance at a new, and better life. It must have been hard for Angel to do. It's too bad cordy was still in a coma. Does anyone know whether she'll be back next season??
Anyways...great close for the season/series
What the hell was gunn's offering?

Dude, the sacrifices Angel makes... and the memories he carries with him.
I like the new turn this episode made in the Angel series. If a 5th season does roll around, I'd certainly tune in because it looks like some interesting stories could be told. I'm glad to see Connor finally happy with a family. I really felt sorry for him last week, and it felt like all hope was lost for him this episode. I even got teary eyed when Angel approached the house and then looked through the window seeing Connor living a life.
Good ending. :)

This was a great episode that just flew by. Some of the comedic moments came of great. I liked Wes' "Gee what a surprise that the humans are corrupted" line. Also liked Angel opening the door to see Lorne already in there. Also loved Wes' grapling hook. And the Angel/Connor confrentation was handled well. Loved there fight in the mall, and Angel having to kill Connor in order to give him a new life was touching. To see Angel walk up to the window and see his son happy, even though he had to lose him was very touching. I give this episode *****. With Angel inc now in charge of WAH, and Spike coming to L.A next season this show can only get better. Come on WB do the right thing and renew Angel.

Well, I guess last week's Connor being cool was a one time thing. I'm glad he's with that family now. That means he's gone...right?
Still, I'm pretty sure there will be a 5th season. Having them in charge of W&H and leaving it like that? Ohh no. I've been watching the show too long to be left hanging like that.
But Spike coming back to L.A.? Eh, it's only exciting the first time. How about bringing Dracula into play? That'd be awesome.
Anyway, overall, I give this ***1/2.

First, I'd like to say I enjoyed the season and this episode. But I want logical answers to these questions:
1. What did they offer Gunn that made him accept the offer?
2. After all that has happened with W&H, how could any of them even consider accepting an offer from them. Don't the realize their souls are up for grabs potentially? I hope they didn't sign any contracts.
3. Doesn't W&H giving control of their L.A. office to the good guys kind of conflict with their purpose of being evil?
I'm sure there are more, but I'm still reeling from their decision to accept. One of the things I like about shows like this is that the heros are the underdog, they have to struggle to win or even manage through their situations. How much of a struggle could it be if some evil show up and they have the means to dispatch it like it is nothing. Where is the drama in that?
Maybe I shouldn't analyze so much. Maybe I should just enjoy it for what it is and be glad to see Angel on Buffy next week (nice little tie-in they had in the office about the goings on in Sunnydale also).

i'm left w/ a lot of questions too..... Hopefully there will be a 5th season. I'm actually waiting for Salvor's comments. I may completely disagree w/ the point of view, but it's interesting hearing another side of the spectrum.
At least Connor is gone. Though i wanted him to meet buffy though. Oh well.

This was a great episode , connor being able to have a normal life was a great touch. I want to see what they offerend Gunn. Also it seems the Vampire Psychiatrist Holden Webster that helped Buffy with her issues in
"Conversations with Dead People" Has been brought back to life as a Scientist at W&H. Lol i know that its not true but i don't get why they would use the same actor for 2 different people in the same universe.

It's been done before. The actor who played Luke, the big tough vampire from "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and "The Harvest," also played the Judge in "Surprise" and "Innocence." Although, he was covered in make up, but the voice is recognizably the same.

Phew they managed to come up with a decent season finale after such a chaotic season... I liked it, mainly because the ending was such a shock (woohoo! they got rid of Connor!). Really touching ending. And Wes got some really good scenes too, like that Batman hooking trick. I didn't love the ep since nothing really happened, we got *yet another* Connor VS Angel fight, and Fred seemed blander than ever... still seeing Lilah dressed like Daphne from Scooby Doo just made my day!

Wow, what a sad ending. I shocked to see him kill Connor just so he could give him a better life. The sacrifices that Angel makes... :(
I'm also surprised they decided to take the offer, well... surprised at everyone besides Angel. For Angel, I can understand, since it must have been the only way he could've given Connor what he wanted. But I'm surprised at everyone else for not being more suspicious.
I know a lot of people hated Connor, but I guess I was one of the few who liked him. I'm sad to see him go. Especially in the way he did. He was such a tortured character, he was just searching for a normal, happy life. Something about his devotion to family (even to the psychotic degree in this episode) really struck a chord within me. I couldn't help but feel terribly sorry for the things we went through.

3. Doesn't W&H giving control of their L.A. office to the good guys kind of conflict with their purpose of being evil?
I think W&H offered their LA office because they felt Angel and company ended world peace by killing Jasmine and W&H is certainly down with that. They are only around to cause chaos, so they saw actions done by Angel and company as mirroring their own goal.
I believe that all of it is a scam; Team Angel believes they have a whole of information and resources at their disposal but they will never get complete information on anything. By not knowing, they can make mistakes when they go on missions that can lead to more chaos. A very fine example is with Jasmine. Team Angel believed that Jasmine is evil, but if you looked at it another way, there certainly was peace. The price for peace.
As for Conner, I'm fine that he has a family and is happy but did they have to make him out to be this super genious? I think the show said that he was in the top 10 percentile of his class. Couldn't they have just made him a "regular" high school graduate who goes to a community college or the local state university?

Wow! This was a great ending for the season! I think that this past season was their best one yet. I am surprised that everyone decided to go on that tour. I don't think that everyone agreed to the offer from Wolfram and Hart though. Was that made clear in this episode? I do know for a fact that Angal and Gunn have accepted.
Supernovametalstar, you raise some excellent questions. First, what I think they offered Gunn was total power. I seriously believe they gave all of the little girl's power over to Gunn. You know, the dark stuff that the Beast sucked out of the little girl? I think Wolfram and Hart got it back when the Beast was destroyed and they just offered it to Gunn. And he actually took it!!! Augh! That's just what I think.
For your second question, I'm thinking the same thing you are. Why in the hell are they actually trusting Wolfram and Hart after all of the trouble they've caused Team Angel???
The third question was already answered by oranthal (and quite well, I might add), but I want to bring something else to that answer. Wolfram and Hart has always known that Angel would be a big part of some apocalypse. They have always tried their best (or worst) to get Angel to be on their side. I think that this is a good way of maikng sure that Angel is on their side. That is if the apocalypse didn't already happen with Jasmine. If there really is another apocalypse, bigger or nastier than what just happened this past season, Wolfram and Hart now have Angel on their side. And there's nothing that Angel can do about now I think. Not after what he asked Wolfram and Hart to do for Conner.

Finally saw it last night.
-So, Connor got a new life? Team Angel doesn't remember it... I wonder if there was just a memory wipe, or all space time re-written?
-I think they made Gunn a god or something. Good to see he's got powers now. Saaaaay, he'll be the next Cordelia/Doyle now. The Team's best connection with the "Other World". Good choice. He's more than proven his worth in keeping up with everyone on the show with absolutely no powers whatsoever.
-How can the show afford to shoot at W&H??? That's alot of money they'll be using to rent out that building and alot of extras to do nothing but walk around.
-It's going to be interesting how they balance a budget of Fred with unlimited resources and practically a whole firm who's resources are unlimited. I don't know how they can even write a show like that and keep it interesting. Draw of Angel was how they were bare bones and held on by a thin thread trying to take on the greatest evils the world had to offer. How can they keep the show intersting when they can just make a call to find out whatever they want and have Fred whip up a tank anytime she needs?

How can they keep the show intersting when they can just make a call to find out whatever they want and have Fred whip up a tank anytime she needs? For that very reason...I suspect they wont keep W&H in the picture for long. I expect to see, among the first eps of the season, something that takes W&H out of the foreground. (And it doesnt have to be something flash bang explosive either.)
As for why did they take the offer? Better to ride the tiger then be in front of it? Keep your friends close but your enemies closer? An honest belief that they wont be corrupted and can change the system? It'll be interesting to say the least. My thoughts are they'll likely figure out they're being corrupted by the system and choose to leave before falling.
