Which makes for the better Riddle(r)? (If only that had rhymed ;) )
Out of the TAS and TNBA designs, which appeals more to you, visually?
Personally, I just adore the TNBA Riddler, despite him only having one real episode involving him, and 2 cameos. I love the 'A Clockwork Orange' look that he's been given, and the lack of hair adds to the sharp design, defining the cranium.
Sadly, we never really got any decent appearances of him in TNBA. Sure, there was "Knight Time", but he only had a few lines, got knocked over, fired a cannon, then was tied-up and elevated, whinging all the way. TAS's "Riddler's Reform" was a star performance job, and "What is Reality?" wasn't too shabby either. It's just a shame that TNBA couldn't have lasted longer, or that TAS could have been done ala TNBA (of course, then it wouldn't be TAS, which would be silly :p ).
So, back to the original question - which design do you prefer, visually? :)

BTAS. Riddler's an intellectual, so it makes more sense to me to see him wearing a jacket and tie instead of spandex.

Hands down the B:TAS Riddler. He just seems more cunning and ruthless, while the TNBA Riddler acted more like Jim Carrey. Maybe if the TNBA riddler had actually had an episode to himself I might change my opinion. But now I would vote for TAS.:)

as much of a TNBA fan I am..I gotta say the TAS one is more sophisticated. The one in TNBA looked like he was on drugs..while everyone else was pumped up..he looked like he belonged with the girl group because of his skinny-ness...
anyway, so, yeah, TAS for me..

I've always had a soft spot for the Batman: TAS design. He's slimmed down, in a decent-looking suit (not covered in question marks), and has a full head of hair (the one in the comics always looked like he's going bald). Plus, with John Glover's voice coming out of his animated mouth...it only made him look that much smarter and more devious.
In contrast, I feel that the TNBA redesign just made him look ridiculous. Why can't DC Comics let that ugly, spandex costume go? It doesn't look good on him--how is a criminal genius supposed to get people to take him seriously when he's dressed like that?
If he makes an appearance on the Justice League show I hope he rediscovers his fashion sense.

I honestly didn't mind the new Riddler look, but considering that I really, really fell in love with the TAS Riddler design, that one gets the nod for me. It just fits his personality perfectly.

Damn. I preferred the Riddler as a drugged-up, campy villain. :)
I think it suited TNBA well, but it wouldn't have TAS - just different feels to each show.

Design-wise, I'm really not sure who I like better, I liked the original B:TAS design, but his animation wasn't all that good until Riddler's reform. He also wasn't very action oriented in the first series, but his redesign reflected the artists and writers need to use him as an active villian. The guys in suits, with the exception of Two-Face, almost always get lackeys to do the butt kicking for them. Obviously, the TNBA Riddler was planned to work more solo than his B:TAS predecessor. Oh course, I could be wrong...
As for what I prefer, I liked the B:TAS, but thought his animation lacked, and thought the TNBA design wasn't great, but his animation (whatever little we saw of it!) was better. As for personalities, the original had much more character than his (unexplained) TNBA counterpart. If not for Ty Templeton's amazing story in Batman: Gotham Adventures #11, I would have much less to like about him. If only Peterson would quit wasting our time with unimaginative, far-fetched, childish, campy, lacking-in-character-development (or character development that makes sense Ex: Freeze's crush on Talia - What the ****!!) stories and instead let someone else who gives his stories more thought than he does take over. I'm starting to think Peterson writes this stuff while he sits on the can! Most of it is "Fit for the Pit!!!" N-E-Ways, Overall, the B:TAS Riddler wins out in by book, mostly because he doesn't stand much of a chance with Peterson working on the book! Then again who does? Best of luck to Harley and Harvey. I'll miss them:( :( :(

I loke the TNBA Riddler better, but he should have had his own episode. What, he was in Knight Time fir about two minutes and Over The Edge for about two seconds ("We demand money! YEAH!) That's it, and it's a shame, too...

Well, i pretty much agree w/ the majority here. I favored the TAS design because it showed him as he is. A sophisticated, intellectual villian. I don't have anything against the TNBA design though. I kinda like it. But i just like the TAS better.

I like the BTAS design better than the TNBA one, but I liked one of the rejected design showcased in "Batman Animated" (the Riddler who lacked fashion sense) best.
Re: the above quote. I agree, the animation of BTAS was worse than the TNBA design. But then the BTAS Riddler didn't need to move to be effective; in fact, the Riddler was at his most effective when simply standing in the shadows, immobile, taunting his enemies.
