What does everyone think of this? This was mentioned in the December info for Batman: Gotham Knights. Here's the info:

BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS #24

Written by Devin Grayson and Todd Dezago; art by Roger Robinson, Mike Wieringo, John Floyd, and Karl Story; cover by Robinson

In stores December 19. A DC FULL COVERAGE! entry-point issue! Batman's life has been rough of late, but now it's Bruce Wayne's world that's thrown on its ear. Both Batman's and Bruce Wayne's inner circles become smaller and smaller. And why would Bruce Wayne be buying a handgun? Plus, a Batman Black & White backup, "Urban Legend," by the Tellos team of writer Todd Dezago (IMPULSE) and penciller Mike Wieringo (ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN), with inker Karl Story (BATMAN).

40 pages, $2.50

It's a setup for Bruce Wayne: Fugitive, I'm sure. I don't know what Wayne's real use would be for the gun, but of course now I just GOTTA pick it up.

I must admit that I don't know what the writer has in mind, but right now I don't like it. I think that watching his parents get shot caused young Bruce to develop a kind of negative reinforcement towards guns. For example, in the World's Finest animated movie, remember the barely contained disgust in Wayne's voice when he told Luthor "I don't like guns."

I really can't see Batman pick up a gun comfortably (there has to be some sort of repressed nausea).

It's probably just a setup for something that looks contrary to his nature, but really isn't. Like during Knightfall when it seemed like Bruce killed a man with a lethal technique to get some ninjas off his butt, but he really managed to pull his punch and keep him alive.

at one point batman had the bat-gun, it was around year 2 or 3, check out detective comics 575, and you'll see a picture of batman and his gun, he gave it up though because he realized he was just making himself as bad as the criminals he was chasing so he gave the gun up.

It's cheep, hyping plot twists like this that keep me away from the mainstream books. Then again, after having to read Peterson's stories in B: GA, the mainstream stuff is starting to look pretty good right about now! Boy, I am starting to get really opinionated or what? I need more sleep:D

I think it's a set up to FUGITIVE, or it's just some part of the story for that issue and really doesn't mean anything at all. Comic synopsis tend to emphasize on things that aren't even important occasionally. Still, the issue sounds great. The creative team for the BLACK & WHITE back up is worth the price alone!
