For the big cartoon buffs, what was the first cartoon to have Katnip named "Katnip"? He was pretty much unnamed in his first few shorts, but I think he got that name in 1951's "Cat-Choo", am I right?

I think this, because my theory is, he didn't appear in any of the NOVELTOONS featuring titles. The ones I saw from around 1951, just had "Featuring Herman" or "Buzzy".

"Cat Carson Rides Again" which was still in the Noveltoon series may have had the Herman and Katnip opening title that Jerry Beck has on his Paramount titles page. You might ask him which cartoon he got it from, which would help narrow down the time frame a little.
