Since nobody has started one I am taking that liberty.
This is the talkback for the Lizzie McGuire Movie.
I admire Hillary Duff to the same vain of Doris Day or the teen idol girls of the eighties. The show and I`m asuming the movie keep that old eighties hyped up bubble gum pop feel I still admire.
Duff may be pretty in pink, and perky...but at least she`s being true to herself.
I don't watch her show with the same passion I do for Power Rangers, but I know there are millions, possibly billions, of fans worldwide that adore her and "Lizzie McGuire" and this movie is for them to what Mighty Morphin Power Rangers:The Movie was for me and my fandom.
No chance of beating out X-Men but I wish her all the luck in the world in getting passed the 20 mil park over the weekend.
So, if anyone here hates "Lizzie McGuire" or Hillary Duff for that matter, please do yourself a favor and keep it to yourself.

I don't think it will make twenty million its first weekend, but I'm taking my sister to see it, so I will add comments later. It will make some money though. My hatred for Lizzie McGuire (NOT Hilary Duff) stems from the chessiness of the show, and the fact that many of the clashes Lizzie has are stereotyped. Even Stevens is similar, but at least on that show there is the constant sibling rivalry between two kids about the same age. They pull off some funny stuff. Lizzie isn't funny to me.
Later.
I don't hate the show at all, it's okay and all, but . . . you know. You couldn't pay me to see this.

I'll admit, the previews look good, but I think Disney's full of itself when it comes to this movie: Disney has great expectations for Duff. ''When we previewed The Lizzie McGuire Movie recently, the title came up and people started to cheer and you'd think we were sitting in Star Wars,'' says Nina Jacobson, Disney's president of production.
Sorry, Nina, but Lizzie McGuire is nowhere as cool as Princess Leia Organa. Those two movies just don't belong in the same sentence.

The movie was very funny and lots of fun. The theater was pretty much packed when I saw it at 5:15. Hilary Duff is very hot, and the Lizzie character definately works for her.

While I haven't seen the movie, I have had the pleasure of cleaning up after those who did see it at my job. Each showing was packed. If my theater is any indication, this movie is gonna pull in a nice piece of change.

Ugh. And so Disney will be inspired to make more movies about vapid teenagers who aspire to be famous and beauitful.

Disney just announced that they signed a writer for the Lizzie McGuire sequel so nah-nah :)
The more Hilary on the big screen, the better place this world is :)

Uh, yeah, hi. If you could just heed NinjaJack's words about the flaming and post actual reviews here, that'd be great.

Sorry. To make up for my bashing, I'll ask a legitimate question.
Does Miranda make an appearance in the movie?

Nope. Miranda was also not in the last handful of episodes that were filmed, including the actual finale when Gordo signs Lizzie's yearbook.
Miranda being in the movie would have actually messed up the Lizzie and Gordo relationship.

I was wondering that myself. I know she is filming a tv movie I believe... and she is trying to start a singing career. She probably didn't want to continue in the shadow of Hilary Duff.
However, if you can't stand Hilary Duff's singing, Lalaine sounds 10 times worse.

As with the Ranger threads, if someone doesn't like the topic of the Talkback, or hasn`t seen it...theres not much reason to come in and say something negative about it.
However, if you can't stand Hilary Duff's singing, Lalaine sounds 10 times worse.
I disgree, Lalaine's "You Wish" song was excellent.
And Hillary Duff's "Why Not" song isn't bad, I really liked the hooks and riffs, the song reminded me of something from the Corrs.

I've watched one episode of the entire series, but I have to comment on one thing.
She's young, yes. And I feel icky for saying this, but right now she's pretty gorgeous. (Hillary)
When she gets to the 18-20's, she's gonna be hot. That's all I can say before the police throw me in R. Kelley's room, so I'll be on the run now.

I couldn't stand "You Wish" or her new song that I heard.
However, I do enjoy "I Can't Wait" and "Why Not" from Hilary.
Hilary's album comes out in September I believe and she is working with such producers as the Matrix I heard. Should be less kiddie pop and more grownup pop.

Okey Dokey now. I just saw the movie. You know what? I liked it. I liked it a lot. It was pretty funny. Besides that, there was an interesting story of deception and sabotage that didn't reveal itself until almost the end of the movie. Give it a chance and you'll be surprised.

Well I am 16 so I am allowed to say that she is freaking hot.
And I did actually see the movie with my little cousin, and well it is pretty good.
And Tobias, why do you say she is underage, if your referring to what Duelist Goku said i don't see what's wrong. oh well........

Well that's what most teen girls want to be. I hate the image myself but hey I was never really the kinda girl that was into mindlessly following a crowd. I really don't see anything wrong with the move thought it's really not my cup of tea. I thought the series was cute and all but never really got into it. As for Hillary she's ok as least she's a postive role modle that doesn't put out that I'm a slut vibe like so many of the pop idols are doing now. Our girls need all the postive rols models they can get now or days.
