OK guys...I have a bone to pick...again.

Can anybody tell me why The Film Fan (1939) uses the wrong opening credit music? One of the networks inserted the musical opening for Porky's Tire Trouble (1938) instead of the I Oughta Be In Pictures musical opening that The Film Fan originally had (as far as I know).

It's very possible that when Nickelodeon had Looney Tunes, this new insert was done--but I don't know. Do any of you know? Please help me understand this one!

It also has a clipped on audio ending that is cut in abruptly and sounds like it was recorded through a $5 Radio Shack microphone.

Because the same audio is also on the B&W print CN shows and which was used for the 1992 colorization, I would guess it was done becaose Warner's could not find an original print that did not have the original opening and closing audio clipped after the studio sold their non H&I black and whites back in the early 1950s.

Why they cut out the opening credit music as well is a mystery, since it is available on the 1968 redrawn version, and several other colorized Looney Tunes ("Porky and Daffy," "The Chewin Bruin," etc.) also had their opening themes rettached, but without changing Stalling's credit music. I'd chalk it up to laziness and lets-play-around bordeom on the part of the video sound editors, which is probably the same reason several of the 1941-43 computer colorized LTs got 1936-37 opening title music.
