I have seen The Lizzie McGuire Movie TV commericals being aired on every commerical break!
It's getting annoying!
If Disney put the same amount of effort at promoting Spirited Away as this teen movie, Spritied Away would have made double its B.O. total!

in the business world we call this "promoting a hot product". even though you may not like lizzie mcguire, many other people do. so, disney is obviously making the logical business decision by promoting the tar out of this project
on a side note, i hope this thread doesn't turn into another "i hate lizzie" one. because then i only give this thread about 2 days to live :p

Didn't Disney do a marketing blitz with Pearl Harbor as well?
Even with the $70 million (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=pearlharbor.htm) dollar marketing campaign the total gross couldn't pay off the production cost.

Overexposure is an advertising tactic. When Master of Disguise came out, how many kids couldn't get that stupid turtle line out of their heads? That's what they're counting on. Making you need to see it, subliminally.
Judging from the trailers to this thing, they are hoping to make their money back by playing to what I can only assume is the already-existing fanbase of the Lizzie TV show, because it doesn't look like there's any other reason to see it.
But I think this is clearly an attempted "I hate Lizzie, don't you?" topic in disguise, because this is hardly the most overplayed commercial on TV. Very far from it.

Cuz I haven't gotten to say it yet, "I hate Lizzie McGuire." Performances are awkward and forced and everything bubble gum cookie cutter to the out of place, tacted on poorly animated cartoon insert that the main character herself I doubt even knows is in the show.
The Lizzie movie looks about the calibur of an Olsen Twin's tv movie on The Family Channel.
WHEW!
I did need to get that off my chest... :p

Allow me to get my two cents off my chest aswell.
Hey I like bubblegum I chew it on a regular basis!^^
And I LOVE Hillary Duff, she`s not only a cuite but she's one of the few females in hollywood that can actually pull off phsyical comedy.
From my viewpoint the movie is going to be fun and neat for the fans[me being one of many guys above 13 that watches the show on a daily basis]
One of the teachers in the movieis has a Mad TV Alum playing a big role, I forget her name but the women who plays "Ms Swan"^_^
I say we should all give the movie a chance, and just as a sidenote, the next time I hear someone bad mouthing Hilary Duff[not lizzie] I'm going to proclaim myself "Hillary Duff`'s digital bodyguard" I`ll have gleefully defend the honor of one of my favorite rising stars.

I really have to agree. If I hear that guy say "you get to see Rome the way Romans do" one more time I'm going to go absolutely insane!!! I understand this is a strategy to get everyone to see the thing but man! @_@ There's limits to everything. Yeah, I'm sure this is a 'I hate Lizzie McGuire' in disguise but oh well. I can't really say "I hate Lizzie" because quite frankly I've never been able to make it through 5 minutes of the show. It's not really meant for 18 year olds afterall. Although I was a bit surprised when one of my friends (a year younger) seemed excited about seeing it (?!).

That advertising would be annoying if I watched the Disney Channel, or whatever they air on. To be fair, Cartoon Network did have similar advertising stunts in the past.

What no one sees in the commercials is that Lizzie goes to Rome just as the electric storms from "The Core" hit.
