The Friday Wall Street Journal has a recurring column by Tom King on the movie industry. This week he's asking for some feedback:
Usually in this space, we answer readers' questions but today--when we're confronted with so many images that seem to come straight out of the movies--we're asking you a few. Mainly, w're interested in what you think about Hollywood's role as a purveyor of violent fare, including films that put terrorists on the big screen. (It's a subject many people in the movie business are feeling a bit awkward about right now.)
Let us know your opinion on the following: Do you think Hollywood was prescient or irresponsible in making movies leading up to last Tuesday's attacks? Are you offended by action movies that feature terrorists and bombs, or do you simply view them as escapist entertainment? What kinds of movies would you like to see Hollywood make at this time? Please send your answers to me at tking@wsj.com; select responses will be featured in an upcoming column.
Since this is something we've been talking about here, I thought I'd share this opportunity with everyone.
Remember, though, this is the Wall Street Journal you'd be writing to; if you want your responses to see the light of day, it's a good idea to use correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization in your email to King. ;)
