Avery seems to have a penchant for mother-in-law jokes (cf. "The Car of Tomorrow"), and "House of Tomorrow" uses a record-breaking three of them! One must wonder if he was getting along with Mrs. Avery's mother. As Bugs might say, "Eh...youse tryin' t' tell us som'pin there, doc?" ;)
The rabbit's little song-and-dance in "Green Fedora" appeared in another toys-come-to-life short ("Toytown Hall", 1936, I believe), using a similar design/animation/score. I've been trying to figure out if the routine and the "hyuk-hyuk-hyuk" horeselaugh is based on any celebrity in particular.

Yup, Joe Penner. Egghead was based upon Penner in a few cartoons, too.

In " The Woods are Full of Cuckoos, " was the penguin a caricature of Joe Penner?
BTW, the Joe Penner laugh (hyuk, hyuk) is hilarious!
