My brother thinks I'm messed up.

For months, he's been teasing me about how along with girls at school and hot actresses, I find chicks in video games and cartoons attractive. Today I put an Asuka skin on Winamp and he went nutso, dishing out a lot of insults-and it's starting to get hurtful. Every time I try and talk to him, saying I'm not messed up, he calls me a pervert, insane, etc. I'm just sick of it.

So people, please, do me a favor and shout out here. Tell this kid that it's OK to find cartoon girls hot.

Seriously though, I don't really have any good advice for you. I do like some cartoon characters "too much", but I don't openly advertise it, so I've never really been in your kind of situation before. All I can say is, you can't change your brother's opinion, but if he can't respect your views and look past the fact that you find anime girls "hot" than he doesn't deserve the kind of attention you're giving him. Don't let him know that it bothers you. That's probably why he does it.

Maybe this is a bit harsh...but I don't think he's a very worthy human being if he can't look past your interests and accept you for you are as a person. So what if you think anime girls are hot? So do a lot of people. He's the one that has problems if he's still in that immature ten year old state of mind where he enjoys making fun of people who are different.

I'm assuming that he's older than you, but maybe I should have waited until you answered my first question....Anyways, regardless of whether he's older than you or not, unless he's younger than ten, he's being very childish.

If your brother didn't have your cartoon preferences to tease you about, he'd find something else. That's how siblings are, always have been, and always will be.

He'll almost certainly outgrow it. Though, if he hasn't by age 25, I'd recommend getting him professional help.

Just ignore him. I find some anime guys hot and I'm far from a sick perv. You could ask him why he's making such a big beal out of it. Seeing as you don't seem to be causing any harm then tell him to back off.
