View Full Version : Missing footage in "Captain Hareblower"?

Yesterday I saw "Captain Hareblower" again and notice the following oddity: Near the end, when Sam throws the lit match into the "Powder Room" of Bugs' ship and he refuses to go inside to get it, Sam jumps off the ship and swims to the horizon. However, there's an abrupt jump from Sam jumping from the ship (we don't even see him falling into the water), to the "tracks" he has left in the water.

Those who have seen this should understand, is this how the film was originally released (therefore making it a pre-release edit), or is there something missing in the TV prints currently in distribution?

There's no edit in that one - that's how it was made...

My guess would be that it is a pre-release edit, as it is difficult to believe that something would still be edited out at that part of that cartoon for any other reason.

No weird iris', and it does seem fine. Agree its a pre-release edit.

It's not an edit at all, guys. It's a quick cut to show how fast Yosemite Sam fled the ship...

Just listen to the music score...

Yeah, that may be true...

I guess we'll never know the full truth for sure...
