Sounds good. But I'm still not done with Dynasty Warriors 3. There are so many characters with which to go through the game. I'll probably buy this one anyway. It's my disease.

DW3 was pretty fun, so I'll probably rent this one. I'm displeased, though, that they decided not to include the Japanese language track this time. DW's English vocal tracks are so god-awful that it's not even funny. That, and it ruins the feel of being in ancient China with all the characters speaking English. :p

I love DW3, but I was expecting more innovation in DW4 instead of just an improved version of the previous game. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, but it would still be nice. All the additions seem well worth the purchase. I am happy to hear that they aren't going to make it so rock heavy and actually put in more of an asian influence. The one big thing that really irks me is the lack of the japanese track. The english track in DW3 had to be one of the worst dubs of anything I've ever heard. Other than that and some minor engine problems, the games sounds great.

I'm eventually going to pick up this game, but I currently have other expenses to tend to.

I find the voice work to be a recurring problem from Koei games. I wouldn't be surprised if Koei just keeps using the same terrible voice actors for every game. Gotta save those yen.

I hear not so good things... there's not much innovation and the like...

And the Chinese characters speaking Japanese is much different because....? I mean seriously, the characters are Chinese, if you really want to pick on that, you should complain that they don't have a Chinese language track. :D

Just kidding, but I kind of thought that when I read your post. Anyway, I played DW2 and DW3 and loved both. Only somewhat recently did I start playing DW3 with the Japanese language track. It certainly is better voiced than the english dub, but I find that the gameplay is what brought me into the games, not the language tracks. I mean, if it were a TV show, I would be in the same camp as you, but being as that it's a game and I try to focus on gameplay more, so the voices usually don't bother me. In fact, they provide unintentional humor, which is just priceless and stors plenty of talk amongst friends. This is what happened when I played as Zhang He and we heard his english lines in DW3. Swear to God, it made it ten times better laughing at the lines and how they were acted. I just thought I'd add that in.

I don't care if it's a retread. I've wanted it ever since I knew there was another game in Japan that included gameply for the unaligned characters. I mean, that's the big thing I wanted, to play as those unaligned people. I mean, c/mon, who doesn't want to play mossuo(sp?) mode as Lui Bu? :D:D:D

I am eagerly awaiting this. I mean, it looks stellar, has the things I wanted improved (for the most part) and only has a few drawbacks as a whole, such as the lack of a choice between English and Japanese.

I mean, I've been waiting for this for at least a year, as long as I've know about it in Japan. So it's like Christmas here for me. :D

I know that. But at least Japanese is an Asian language (which was partially influenced by Chinese), as opposed to a European one, so it's doesn't sound quite as off-the-wall. ;)

Oh well, I think the heavy metal music is probably more distracting than the voices (I just turn the BGM off).

True true. I have some of the songs and they're ok, but not stellar. But I loved Circuit, the ending song to DW3 and Can't Quit This!!! which was from DW2. Th BGM is kind of redundant for the most part though, some I really liked, some were blech.

Anyway, they said the music in this will have asian inspired intruments and such, so I hope that means that it's not all heavy metal music, but still energetic enough for gameplay.

Aww! I'm still not done with the booster pack for DW3! How cruel! :p

No seriously I love the DW series on PS2. These games are a must have for anyone who owns a PS2. This is another big improvement from the last one, but there is just one little problem.......Gah! Its in engrish! Misa do wantanobe engrish! :brak:
