Okay, this was like sort of a clone of "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country." The whole Klingon Kangaroo court, and the Rarapinta (Sp?) penal colony thing. All in all, not a bad episode...I'm wondering if the Klingons are going to do whatever it is they did to make themselves look the way they did on the original series, on this series. After all, it was stated on the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" episode "Trials And Tribble-Ations" that they were somehow changed, but Worf said that Klingons don't like discussing it with outsiders. Could Archer's defendent possibly been General Martok's ancestor? After all, it was J.G. Hertzler. Who knows? Anyway, I'll give it 4 and a half stars. Q'Ploa! (Sp?)

I'm not exactly a hardcore fan of every series, so I'm not sure if they've done the whole "Klingon trial" thing very often. This was my first look at it, and I liked it.
It was a neat change of pace from the normal protrayal of them just beating the crap out of various races. How they kept the heavy pride of their race within the procedings of a two-sided justice system (even if they said it wasn't two sided often).
One thing kinda got to me, though. I know that Archer and the humans delt with the Klingon's two other times, but how did everyone in that court room know english?

I just watched part of it, but as JusticeLeagueLegion indicated this episode is lifted off from past Star Trek series.
One think that bugged me was they keep on using the same actors to play Klingons! (I recognize some of the voices.)
I can't give a rating because I didn't watch the whole episode.

I heard that next week Archer and the crew are going to use a captured klingon bird of prey to slingshot around the sun and go back in time to save some whales.
Following that episode will be a two-parter where T'pol's half brother hijacks Enterprise and forces it to go to the center of the galaxy to meet with god. One particular highlight is when Hoshi does a "fan dance" to distract the hijackers.
And the season finale features Captain Archer becoming trapped in a powerful energy wave only to be released hundreds of years later by Jean Luc Picard, who helps him stop a nefarious Suliban plot.

I really liked this one, though there were a couple of little nitpicky things about it, like the way the Klingons looked, but that didn't bug me. They'll never go back to the way they looked in the original series, though it is funny to think that they looked one way in Enterprise, then another in the original series, then back to the "modern" look later on. ;) I was kinda hoping this would be a two-parter. The ending was a little rushed, but not overly so and was resolved nicely enough. Seeing J.G. Hertzler again was cool, too! :) I give it 4 stars.

It was pre-empted in Milwaukee by a basketball game, so I haven't seen it yet. But I wouldn't read too much into J.G.Hertzler appearing in Enterprise as a bridge to Martok. He and Jeffrey Combes are obviously just favorites of the producers. Combes showing up as the Andorian and Hertzler in another Klingon outfit. They were also both in that silly wrestling episode of of Voyager with The Rock.

Eh. It was alright I guess. I just wish they wouldn't have lifted a plot and episode almost VERBATUM from the Undiscovered Country script. And Rura Pente?? HE JUST WALKED OUT!!! I don't think so. Kirk and McCoy almost died getting out, and Archer just walks out with freakin Reed. Plus, Scotty said in TUC that noone ever survived Rura Pente, I guess he just forgot. I know thats nitpicky, but the producers are going out of their way to recycle plots AND destroy any shred of continuity all at the same time. Thank God I have my TNG and DS9 DVDs so I can watch good Trek whenever I want to.

To be honest, the way UPN keeps hyping these episodes, and how they keep disappointing, I've stopped watching. But, from what parts I watched, it looked like a cheap rip off of Star Trek VI.
Y'know, it's too bad that the writers can't think of anything original. I actually like most of the characters. Oh well. I guess that's what fanfic is for. >shrugs<

I actually liked seeing Archer squirm, but I also thought that this episode was going to be a two-parter. I think the ending was a complete cop-out. T'Pol going through back channels? Bribing Klingons? Not letting Archer fight for freedom? A last-minute rescue was a dumb idea. If Archer was truly an idealist in his beliefs of Justice, he would have stayed as well. The council was a good character, but everyone else was too one-dimensional for my taste. Grrr.
Later.

I think it was necesary. Why would Archer want to stay in some Klingon prison for something that was clearly unjust in every way.

Meh... three stars.
The story's been done before with better effects and action. Two things that I have to nit about are
1) How can they let Archer just walk out of there? Won't they chase after him in future episodes? Probably not.
2) We see that Archer outsmarted that demoted captain and damaged his ship. Archer's ship escapes. So... um... how did Archer end up in their courtroom? Where was the abduction scene where the crew fights and fails to protect Archer and we see him get captured later by Klingon bounty hunters? http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
