I managed to get my hands on the Keith Giffen issue yesterday. I dont have the book with me so I cant remember the other stories, but the main one with Bugs and the vending machine is out and about hilarious. Not to mention that psuedo Chuck Jones cameo. ^___^

And I was pleasantly surprised to find out who was behind all the insanity :D

Elmer with that paper rifle was a scream, but the kicker was the Wackyland Dodo who popped out of the vending machine at the end, in black and white no less ^____^

I got that too, and I have to say it's the best overall LT issue they've done yet. If you can read only one modern LT comic book, it should be #83.

I'll be on the look-out for it. I finally found a bookstore around here that actually carries the LT comics. I found the one with the Witch Hazel & Speedy Gonzales story.

I seem to have lost all sources for these now...my local comic place doesn't carry them, (only superhero and weirdo stuff) and no bookstore does either.:(

I picked up issue #84 today. It wasn't as good as #83, but it was still worth $2. The lead Duck Dodgers story was about average for this title. There's some clever stuff with Daffy encountering various aliens, and the ending was extremely bizarre.

The second story with Hubie & Bertie setting up a fight between Claude Cat and a bulldog was a little hard to follow. There was no dialogue until the very end, and I think it would have made more sense if it wasn't told completely through actions. The art wasn't as good as usual either.

The final story is another chapter in the continuing adventures of Machuu Pizza delivery girl, Lola Bunny. My favorite part of these stories is Leo Batic's artwork. He really knows how to draw a sexy bunny. The story, in which a Greek god falls in love with Lola, made me laugh several times, and I wish it could have been longer than 8 pages.

They still put "Looney Tunes Comics" on the cover, right? Those pictures Brian posted are just the cover art before thats added, right? (you have to remember they stopped carrying LT comics here a long time ago, so I wouldn't know).

Well, the latest issues I picked up this summer just said "Looney Tunes". For a while, they had a "Kid's WB" logo in the corner too, but they then changed it to Bugs Bunny in the LT circles.

Yes, what I posted are just the covers before they add the logo, price, barcode, etc.

AAAAAAhhhh, it makes sense now. Also, do they still use the old "Hip Fab Fun" Looney Tunes lettering (like what Matthew used to use for his webpage logos)? I know they abandoned the old Hip Fab Fun cover format, but I remeber that they used the Hip Fab Fun version of the LT logo for a few more years.

I've never said Hip Fab Fun that many times before...

You can see a few examples of the current LT comics look on the TZ comics page, specifically here...

http://www.toonzone.net/comics/lt61-70.html

...where there are two covers we couldn't get just the art for, so we scanned the actual issue in. There are few more on previous page as well (and everything before #39 is a scan).

Also, I merged this thread with the other comics thread, to keep it all together, and also to bump it back to the top. Ain't I a stinker? :D

Thanks, so do still use the Hip Fab Fun version. One last question, I noticed a different looking version of Sniffles in the banner at the top of that page, does that mean they actually use him in the comics?

I think I like the character designs they use, based on the cover art, that is.

That image of Sniffles is from the cover of Bugs Bunny and Friends: A Comic Celebtation (http://www.toonzone.net/comics/covers/lt/looneytpb.jpg), which is a collection of old LT comic stories from the 40s to the 90s.
