Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 Sequel?

I've heard rumors of a sequel to Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040.
Can anybody confirm that there is one in the works?
I hope there's going to be one. They left the ending so open.
Any information would be really appreciated.

Yes there is it's called Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2041 and is set after 2040 it is being said that they will try and use as much of the original cast as posible.

Ayep, that's where I saw 2040 too!

I'm not sure I like the idea of a sequel: I liked the fact that the ending was so open. It felt like the entire series had just been a small slice out of the lives of these people, and by keeping the ending open (rather than tying up all the loose ends) it gave the impression that their lives were going on (we just weren't there to watch them! :p ).

I expect I'll still watch the sequel; I just fear that they're going to mess up that whole "middle of real lives" feeling with some pat "answer everything that remained unanswered" kind of plot.
