It looks to me like all you Batman Beyond fans may get a good final story yet!

I had been reading rumours on these pages a few months ago that in Superman Adventures' final issue, Terry McGuiness would co-star as Batman! Now that I've been to see the newspage, I've read the blerb and know it's true! So don't be too sad guys and glas, ladies and gents:

-Unmasked will air eventually
-BB Return of the Joker uncut will eventually be available to you
...and now...
-There's no need to lament the final issue of BB's ill-fated comic series. Terry's Mom Dates a Splicer isn't the end! Look for him to team up with the Superman of the Past in Superman Adventures #64! Maybe someday, they'll even publish that Fantastic Four ripp-off story and the "Sphinx" character story were all heard about. Chin up!

I saw the news, and I think its great. I think the storyline is about Batman heading back into time to stop Brainiac from altering the future. This reminds me of the ending of "The Call" when Superman said that Terry's Batman and Bruce's Batman share many of the same traits. It is possible that Superman knew all along that Terry will become Batman in the future. Also it would ultra-cool to see Terry head back to Gotham and meet Bruce Wayne.

Time travel? Ugh. I knew they'd resort to some lame gimmick. I mean time travel...so cliched. Well, here's the cover:

Yes it astounds me as well. I guess Mike meant to lay emphasis on the Superman VS Luthor plot.

The SUPERMAN emphasis on the cover is intentional, as per DC's FULL COVERAGE month, when a title's main character is showcased. Go to the NEWSPAGE and check out what I mean.

How else could they do it though? More "magic" like the past few issue and the next few to come have had? I'll take the time travel over more magic any day....

There has been too many 'magic' themed issues of late. I was just hoping that we'd get to see a tal eof the future SUPERMAN, from the JLU. Now That'd be cool!

I'm actually really looking forward to this story though. Please tell me that it isn't the last "Superman Adventures" issue though. I really hope the last one will feature a Luthor/Superman or Brainiac/Superman showdown, guest starring Kara In-Ze, the Kents, Lana, The Planet staff and ending with a kiss between Lois and Clark (or Superman). Was I the only that felt that there should have been a kiss at the end of issue #49 rather than a punchline?

Wow, I want to buy this as soon as it hits the shelves. Um... exactly what number is this issue? At the store I buy comics, its hard to see everything on display, but they have a list of all the new issues. Knowing the number of the issue helps me find what I'm looking for real easily. I can't rely on the people who work there coz they don't know squat about comics! So what's the number?

I agree, DG. A JLU story with the future Supes would've been pretty dang cool. Maybe one day we'll get a JLU mini-series. Maybe PDStorrie could do it...

Issue #66 is the current schedule final issue. It'll be released in Febuary.

I would just like to see the JLU Superman going side by side with Batman. I can't wait to see Almancio's portrayel of Batman Beyond, though. It's gonna look so awesome...

Ya know Terry's Mom dates a splicer was actually a pretty decent issue. Though I must admit not how to end a series. But the art was ok and we learned a little bit Terry's mom. The only thing that bothered me was the lasers that shot out of the batmobile. Does Terry have those? I would have preferred if they used the missles like we saw in the Call.

It was a good story, yeah. But as we've stated before, just not the right way to end the series. The series ended with no sense of resolution or a closing arc. Just another splicer story.
