According to an NBC special airing next Tuesday (April 1, 2003), it's the 75th anniversary of the Three Stooges.
I was wondering which Stooge is the most popular, so please vote.
Since I could list up to ten choices, I also added others who could be considered unofficial Stooges.
Ted Healy is the man who started the Stooges and also a fine comic/actor in his own right.
Emil Sitka was a longtime foil for the Stooges, beginning with Curly's last short, Half-Wits' Holiday (1947) and continued with them through the features the Stooges made with Curly Joe in the early 1960s. He was also scheduled to replace the ailing Larry for the Stooges' appearance in Blazing Stewardesses, but then Moe got sick and the Stooges were replaced by two of the Ritz Brothers.
Fred Sanborn was a fourth Stooge when they were still with Ted Healy and appeared with them in Soup To Nuts (1930), their first film appearance.
Vernon Dent was one of their best foils in the shorts with Curly.
