In the history of the New York City's VAN BUEREN STUDIOS, which is your favorite series from the studio?

I picked AESOP'S FABLES...Because I find this excellent series to be the most surrealist cartoons made during the late 20s and early 30s.The humor in these cartoons, has a NYC style (since the films were made in Manhattan) to it, and the animation holds it's own. Here are some of my favorite Aesop's Fables one reel comedies.
MAKING THEM MOVE (1931) Takes a very bizzare look on how animated cartoons are made in a cartoon studio.
THE OFFICE BOY (1930) A funny cartoon(simular to Iwerks, The Office Boy)where the boy mouse get jealous when his girlfriend becomes the object of the bosse's love interests.
NOTE:This was the cartoon that promted the Disney law suit.
A STONE AGE ROMANCE (1929) The caveman looks like a young Farmer Alafpha, while he uses a Dinosaur a saw to rip down a tree, chases a beautiful cavegirl towards the end of the picture. But at the end she knocks out the caveman and her father over their heads, sending like a home run.
JUNGLE JAZZ (1930)The cartoon takes place in Africa, and our travlers become the object of dinner by a bunch of savage cannibals. The cat freaks out through out the entire cartoon, while his partner remains calm and cool. When the natives announce the king, the dog helps the cannibal by using lighter to start the cooking pot, and when the natives announce the king, the dog spits(with a farting noise) and scares the entire tribe away.
This is a great cartoon series to watch, and they are very hilarious from which the time that they were made...Over seven decades ago.

I picked Tom & Jerry, because the gags in that series are off-the-wall and great. The best in the series is "Hook & Ladder Hokum" directed by Frank Tashlin. In this cartoon Tashlin did what the others directors at Van Beuren DIDN'T do! He takes the gags to all extremes. Infact, look closely at "Hook & Ladder Hokum" and a cartoon Tashlin made at WB a few years later, "Porky the Fireman". The gags are very close in resemblance.

I wish i could say i saw some of these cartoons from each of the above list, but i can't. The only ones i have seen are Little King, Tom & Jerry, Amos and Andy & Rainbow Parades. I have not seen any from Aesops' Fables or Cubby Bear.

TOM AND JERRY! Nothing like seeing a mouse constantly outsmart a cat for getting you outta a blue funk. :)

This is not the famous cat and mouse duo, this was the first "Tom And Jerry" cartoon series. The two humans version made their screen debut in the 1931 cartoon short. "WOT A NIGHT" and was released by RKO RADIO PICTURES.
