View Full Version : CGI Mickey Mouse
Anybody see the CGI Mickey Mouse at the Oscars last night? He presented the best animated short subject award along with Jennifer Garner (definitely NOT CGI), and I gotta say, I was a little creeped out by him. While it seemed okay with Homer Simpson, I'd have to say Mickey's not very well suited to CGI. Hopefully this wasn't a test of some sort for future CGI Mickey appearances...

I didn't watch the Oscars last night, and now I'm glad I didn't:eek:

I also missed the Academy Awards last night. Is there a clip of computer generated Mickey available anywhere? I would like to see how well (or poorly, as the case may be) it was animated.
I saw the Oscars and I think Mickey was pretty well animated in CGI. Jerry Beck has a couple of pictures in his site.

The picture with Jennifer Garner made Mickey look more like a midget playing the mouse at Disney World...:o:p

I think it might be. I read this from Amid Amidi's website, animationblast.com: "Disney has announced that they are producing an updated feature-length version of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" segment from FANTASIA...It's been reported that the new APPRENTICE will use a combination of CG and real-life images."

I am so looking forward to that...not. The CG Mickey was nothing more than a technical demonstration; he had no personality - just like he hasn't for the last 60 years.
