Do you people like what Stan Lee has done with the characters so far? I haven't read any of the comics yet but from what I've seen of what the characters look like, it does look cool seeing how Stan "the man" Lee sees the DC Characters in his way. Here's what I think of the characters so far:

SUPERMAN

I like how the artist has kept some of Superman's main features like the chin and the eyes. Also like how he's now a blonde and still has that classic pose with his hands on his hips. What I don't like though, is that his costume is a bit...well...PLAIN. We don't see the significance of the old Superman's costume with the famous "S". Although a minor detail, the artist still should've done more with the costume. Moving to his origin, I like how he's a space cop chasing down his enemy, it shows how he got to earth. BUT, it still can't compare with old Supe's origin about his parents sending him to Earth from an exploding Krypton.

WONDER WOMAN

I REALLY REALLY like this new look. It's probably one of my favorite interpretations of the DC Characters so far in the "Just Imagine" Series. I like how they're is a lot of gold on her costume and that really cool looking headpiece. The only thing I don't like is the small cape. It isn't really needed and Wonder Woman would do fine without it. The main thing that caught my eye was the golden shield and that golden staff . The designs are awesome and I hope other artists do more great designs like this. I also like her origin that she comes from Peru and that she finds an anchient artifact (the golden staff) and becomes a power that the world has never seen. Very cool and I'm hoping to get this book.

GREEN LANTERN

I like the design, though it looks like he's naked. he should have some sort of suit that's entirely green so it blends in with his skin (if that is his skin). I especially like how the lantern logo is kind of inside of him and it has that glowing effect. His origin is good about him finding the fabled Tree Of Life while on an expedition. I expected more from his origin, but it's good enough.

THE FLASH

I was hoping for a really good costume design for The Flash but unfortunately, this design dissappoints me. It doesn't look like a costume for a speedster, but more of a spaceman suit:( . Definitely this is my least favorite of all the costumes I've seen so far from the "Just Imagine" Series. Even though I don't like the costume, I like her origin. I like how her father was working on an experiment that later on would combine her DNA with the DNA of a hummingbird! I know, it does sound slightly corny but hummingbirds are real fast at flapping their wings so I guess it makes some sense. I'm looking forward to reading this book despite the costume, because Flash is a cool-ass superheo!

AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST....

BATMAN

Haven't seen much of his costume, only his mask, but from just judging the mask, I'm dissappointed. This was easily one of my eagerly awaited comic this year for me. The mask to me looks too...much...like a bat:rolleyes:. I know, that's why he's called BATMAN but this one looks a bit too much like a bat. Judging from the cover the mask also has fur. Well, this dissappointed me alot but I haven't read any comic of the series yet but I hope the book is better than what almost everybody says it is. His origin is cool, being framed and being sent to jail and released and now is seeking revenge dressed as a bat. Overall, I REALLY hope Stan Lee doesn't screw around with my favorite hero of all time.

Well, those are my 2 cents on the subject, now what do you guys think of all of this?

BTW, can anyone sum up the Batman book by Stan Lee, like name the pros and cons? Also, does anyone know if all of these books that Stan Lee is doing will eventually end up being a TPB? Thanks for any help!

In the meantime, see ya BatFans!:)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Bruce Timm attached to the Flash project at one time? I think I remember hearing he would do the artwork...

I think Timm was attached to the Flash project at one point, but had to back out for some reason.

Personally, I think I would have liked the concept better if it had been Stan writing a one shot about each character, not totally reinventing them. We're not reading a Stan Lee "Batman" story, we're reading a story about a character Stan created and called "Batman." Know what I mean?

I don't like the series at all and ceased buying it. It lacks the magic his comics had back in the 60's, and I doubt if he had truly handled the characters back when they were originally created that he would have come up with all this mess. The issues I got were quite disappointing.

I agree. I took me forever to finish the Batman book, and I only read 5 pages of the Wonder Woman one. Couldn't stomach it. My roommate gets the series too, so I can always read his copy of Flash, Supes, JLA, GL, etc, but that would mean I actually would have to READ the books...

Well, I haven't read any of them so I can't comment much either way. But, I just thought I'd say that I don't mind much some of the things that others nitpicked about like costumes or the hummingbird origin. Yeah, these things are different, but that's kind of the point of the series.

The hummingbird DNA origin, though really weird, fits in well with Stan's style. Heck, it's not that different from the classic Marvel character from the pre-Stan days called The Whizzer (that name is not a joke), who got his superspeed from an infusion of mongoose blood. And it's not too much worse than getting bit by a radioactive spider. What I'm saying is, maybe this stuff isn't the greatest, but it is what I think Stan's DC would be like (even if it is a corny and boring one)

I found the whole series rathar dissapointing so far. The dialogue and characters are hokey and two dimensional. The art, while good, can`t warrant the expensive price tag on these books.

...haven't read the series, or any comic book in months, since my favorite comic book outlet shut down months ago. But the hummingbird DNA thing caught my eye. Wouldn't a lass infused with that genetic data also have a hummingbird's heightened need to consume mass quantities of food, esp. sugar? Her metabolism would be off the chart. I can see her saving the day with her super-speed and all that, and then celebrating by slurping down half the menu at Baskin-Robbins.... ;)

Hey, I've just seen the new cover for the JL book coming in December...

http://www.toonzone.net/comics/covers/2001-12/dcuniverse/stanlee-jla.gif

...and judging from the cover, my hopes are decreasing for this book...REAL FAST. I've had high hopes for this book ever since I heard Stan Lee was hired to do this job. I'll just post what I think of this new cover and the pros and cons from my point of view:

Superman: Pretty much looks like what he had been from the other cover. Wish Stan would have put more things into the costumes, though:(.

Wonder Woman: In this pic, she looks...IMO, fat. She's chubby in some places, and in some she isn't. But the rest of the costume is fine.

The Flash: Looks the same. Still don't like the costume, what a spaceman rip-off. j/k:p

Green Lantern: This seems to be the only one that I don't have a problem with. The design is simple and cool at the same time.

Batman: As I posted above, I haven't really seen Batman's full costume, just the mask. I kind of liked the mask because the art from what I've seen in the Batman book looked cool and detailed (on the cover). But now that I've seen the full costume, all I can say is I'm dissappointed with Stan Lee. Probably the only thing I like is the cape and even that's not all that good. What I hate about the costume most, is that from the neck down everything is just plain...there isn't even the classic belt and the bat-ensignia that Batman always has on . If I had done the costume, I would stick close to the original but change it so it's unique in it's own way. Stan's Batman may have put things that resemble the Batman we all know and love, but this one just isn't unique IMO.

Now, I haven't lost all of of my faith in this book. Believe me, I'm still going to buy this series, but without those high hopes I had in the 1st place.

If someone would do a JL cover, I would like it if it were more like these kind of covers:

http://www.toonzone.net/comics/covers/2001-12/dcuniverse/jla61.jpg

OR

http://www.toonzone.net/comics/covers/jla/jla02.jpg

I know the 1st pic is kind of the same with the "Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating the JL" cover, with all the action poses, but the other pic seemed so much better (maybe because the costume designs in the JL cover were so good and we're all use to seeing the same costumes.).

Now, once again, what do you guys think of this cover? Worse than the other covers, pretty good, awful, great, etc...

BTW, can anyone answer 2 of my questions:

1. Does anyone know if this series will be made into a TPB?

2. What is the best place to store comics in? I put my comics in those comic bags so I want them to be in a secure place and so that I can take each comic out easily and that I can divide them anyway I like so it's much easier for me to get them.

In the meantime see ya BatFans!:)
