Hey folks,

Just wanted to mention that my Justice League Adventures story is going to appear in the second issue of the new comic, arriving in stores this December. Here's what DC has to say about the issue:

JUSTICE LEAGUE ADVENTURES #2

Written by Paul Storrie; art by Craig Rousseau and Wayne Faucher; cover by John Delaney.

A DC Full Coverage! entry-point issue. The comic based on the brand new Cartoon Network show continues as the Justice League must find a way to defeat a strange magical cult that is targeting the treasures of museums around the world. To succeed, the League needs the Martian Manhunter, but is he too torn by his feelings of alienation from his new teammates to help?

Hope that those of you who enjoyed my recent issue of BATMAN BEYOND will give this one a shot as well!

No doubt. I'm looking forward to it, sound like it will be a great story, and the art probably won't be too shabby either...

I'm VERY excited to be working with Craig Rousseau again. I know he'll do a terrific job.

Did you know your sotry was going to be out so soon? Getting to do the second issue's gotta be cool. Do you know if you'll be doing any more issues of JL in the future?

Animated books are very popula ron the newsstand so it should be no problem to get a copy.

I talked with JLAdv. editor Dan Raspler at Wizard World in Chicago last month, and he mentioned that my story had been moved forward in the schedule. I didn't anticipate that it had moved THIS far forward.

Doing issue two is definitely cool, but man-o-man is Ty Templeton a tough act to follow!

As for my doing more JLAdv. in the future, Dan R. and I have talked about it, but nothing is written in stone at this point.

Thanks for posting that, Brian!

I've had tremendous luck with cover illustrations thus far at DC. This time I have the good fortune to have an issue coming out during Full Coverage.

Keep up those compliments and I'll end up with a swelled head. Not a problem, though. I've got wide doors in my place! :)

I am just glad, besides the fact that Mr. Storrie is writing us a great story of course:), that John Delaney's artwork is finally getting the recognition it deserves! I am very glad that you guys like the cover of JLA #2, but I wonder if you guys remember how little everyone else seemed to like his work a while ago. I personally thought it was very good, much more consistant than Rousseau, Beatty, Staton or Levins and much more Bruce Timm-esque. I only hope he becomes a regular contributer to the inner pages of JLA in it's months to come. Who knows, maybe all of the attention JLA is getting will rub off on Gotham Adventures soon (please!!!) and some of the big hitters may come to try at bat (I'm bad at sports metaphors-forgive me!). I await this new series with a heavy heart-the end of Superman Adventures after all...yet.... A New Beginning

The cover is *surprisingly* good indeed. To tell you the truth, I don't usually like Delaney's artwork: it's often way too far from the BT animated style and seems rather lacking to me.

BUT this particular cover looks tremendous. Very imposing. And needless to say I'm looking forward to reading your story Paul!

The cover is good, but not great. Looking at it upclose I can see alot of imperfections and heavy influence of Delaney's overly cartoony style I disliked in ADVENTURES OF THE DCU. I stil blam ehim for destroying the HOW TO DRAW [insert DC Character] ANIMATED series. Even Ty Templeton believes that, and dropped out when he heard Delany was taking over the art chores on those books. But Delaney is a Canuck so that gives him some leevrage, but I still see him as a sub-par artist at best.

I'm not looking forward to a Delaney pencilled issue.

I agree with DisneyBoy, Delaney has done some pretty good stuff. I thought his whole run on ADCU was great, hopefully he'll get to do an issue of JLAdv.

It almost certainly won't (I now think its having your BB issue was a fluke, though a tremendously lucky one). That means I'll be making a special research expedition to locate it.

I couldn't have put it better myself!

You're also right about the tiny imperfections... Superman's head looks so... "delanish" :)

I knew I wasn't alone! I just don't think his art is good at all. Hopefully he has worked on his artwork a bit, but I dread the day he gets to do a story for JLAdv.

Good hunting, then. In my own humble opinion, I think you'll find it worth your while.

Mr. Dick Grayson...I am shocked and appalled! I believe that we all have a right to out own opinions, but Delaney's art work is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Levins and Rousseau's put together. His characters never have knees that consist of a point or faces that look nothing like the designs we all come to know. True, the first few issues of Ad. in the DCU weren't fabulous, but by issue #12, he was doing amazing work. He captures motion, consistancy and especially the animated style!!! Though I do agree that his artwork in How To Draw didn't stand up to Templeton's, to say that Rousseau's or Levin's does makes me wonder if we are all talking about the same Bruce Timm animated style. I'm really surprised that you don't like his work! I'm shocked...really! I really hoped that most of you guys would share my opinions concerning art...but as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Do me a favour: re-read Adventures in the DC Universe #12, the MacBeth/ClayFace issue of Batman: Gotham Adventures and the ManBat/Craig Rousseau issue of Gotham Adventures as well. I would like to know how you rate the art in those issues, 'cause to me, Delaney's work beats out the other two!

Though I do like Delaney's work a lot, I have to say that Rousseau's art is just a bit better. I guess everyone has their own opinion on the subject...

James Harvey

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, which means I do to. And I don't like Delaney's work. That's it. My opinion won't change on it. I've read all the issues of ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, and I found they had a sub-par level of quality. And again - this is my opinion. I find it very unprofessional and even juvenile looking. I know the style becuase I've been encased in it for almost 10 years. Heck - that's how I draw!

Everyone has their own opinion and can agree/disagree on whatever - but you have to respect them.

Delaney being Canadian just can't save his art. :)
